On the night of September 8, Neraster Fangrin fought Tim Enralyte in defense of FireStar, the Red Opal. A small crowd of onlookers, many new to the Duel of Fists, watched with curiosity as the two met in the best of three series.
The first match, fought in the Pit, burst with intensity. Neraster, the Opal's defender, opened with the first point but Tim remained undaunted and rattled off four straight unanswered points. In a matter of moments, both duelers stood poised to make their sixth exchange. Both hesitated a moment before launching into kicks and it appeared that neither would hit the other. However, the two men crashed together and spun to the mat; though he
absorbed a hard strike, Tim had to be happy with the result: a 5-2 victory in only 6 rounds.
For match 2, the combatants moved to the Bridge where Neraster again opened the match with a one to nothing lead. Tim, though, immediately answered back with a point of his own, but after that, the match moved at a slightly slower pace than the one previous. Both men opted for more defense than they had before and Tim timed his somewhat better than his opponent. After nine rounds, Tim again proved the victor with another 5-2 score.
Tim Enralyte, in only two matches and an overall 10-4 score in 15 total rounds, won the right to possess FireStar, the Red Opal. The Outback staff congratulates the challenger on his successful effort.
