As Khrys watched the planet completely vanished beneath them and once again they were shooting through a tunnel of stars. "Zach where are we going?" He looked back at her and laughed as they shot into the familiar old cave. "I didn’t know this thing could do that so fast Zach" He got up grabbed her hand and said let’s go as he pulled her towards the metal portal and they were suddenly in the cottage. "Where are we going Zach?" He
gave her a great big hug and a kiss "We have a wedding to attend. Ours!" With that they were off to town. On the way to town they both mused about how fast time had passed.

After the wedding Zach and Khrys stayed around Rhydin and dueled for a while. They rode home quietly that night and not too much was said. As soon as they arrived at the cottage Zach started the portal warming up. Khrys turned to Zach and asked quietly "Do we have to go back right now?" He smiled down at her and said "Yes! I’m afraid we do but only for a day or so." We can come back and have a nice quiet honeymoon after
that. We can fly back and take a more scenic route if you like. Would you like to see one of the many Nebulae out there?" She nodded quietly and he gently took her by the hand and pulled her through. They were off world very quickly and shooting through utter blackness until Zach asked for Doppler compensation. After about an hour the ship came to a halt and there in front of and around Khrys was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. The colors
were awesome and everywhere Zach floated over to her using a tether and hooked her to one as well and the two of them just floated there in each others arms taking it all in. Zach had attached the two of them together just in case.
They must have gone to sleep as they both jumped when Zach’s head hit a chair. The ships computer had startled him to wakefulness. It was time to get moving. She started laughing at him as it took him a while to regain both his composure and control. He finally managed to float back to her chair and get her reattached and then to his chair as well. As soon as they were strapped back in He told the computer to "Go jump!" There was that
familiar tube and the computer was speaking unintelligibly again. All of the various computers were being brought online as they approached the besieged planet. The Ship came to a halt a good distance from the now familiar planet and Zach was talking with someone in that unfamiliar tongue. After a few minutes Zach looked back at Khrys and said "Close your eyes It is time for a calibration." She closed them without hesitation and he laughed at that
and gave the go ahead.
As soon as it was complete he told her that all though he had been joking when he had said he had something to do that she didn’t want to see, while referring to their wedding, he did now have to do an aerial battle. The enemy had some jets and they had just brought them up to active status so it was time for him to go and hit them. "Khrys if you don’t want to watch just close your eyes but I have to do this or there guys will kill many
people senselessly." Khrys just nodded quietly and looking down said "I understand." Zach turned around and said "Let’s go get em!" The ship jumped into action and the target was displayed as a red dot on the horizon becoming many as they approached at a very low level and at a moderate speed. Some of the targets had yellow rectangles in back of them.
Whereas Khrys had been taken in by beauty and splendor only a while ago she was now filled with a sense of foreboding. The tone of the computer was flat and the alien language sounded menacing. Zach’s normally friendly demeanor had been replaced with a stern, silent and almost thoughtless reactivity. It seemed to her that he was reacting rather than acting. As they shot over the now very active base there were several jets that had already
made it into the air. Those that had not started moving yet had the wings severed in seconds. They just flopped down onto the runway completely useless as the fuel spilled out of them onto the tarmac. The pilots were out of them and on the run ASAP. Some jets were taking off he allowed them to get airborne the jets that were preparing to enter the runway had the landing gear cut out from under them and they dropped to the ground. The same effect of
ants running from a giant magnifying glass was achieved once again.
The ship jumped forward and began to keep pace with the now climbing jets. As soon as they reached a good altitude the wings were removed from them as well. The pilots ejected as soon as Zach moved on. The first flight to leave had seen that anything above a certain altitude was shot down and headed for the lower altitudes. Zach shook his head and said something to the computer and the ship was suddenly in front of the jets and keeping pace
with them. All of them fired a volley of rockets simultaneously and the ship shot straight up in the air. Zach was starting to laugh and then the ship moved behind the jets. All of the rockets were following the ship and translated the right angle turns of the ship into a nice curve. The ship began to drop and headed straight for the jets now from above and behind. As the rockets got in sync with the ship it accelerated and began to drop even faster
towards the jets. Just before the ship was about to merge with the jets, Zach’s ship took off in a blur leaving them behind to deal with their own weapons problem. "I was wondering if they had thought of activating FOF or not. I guess we get to find out in a moment."
They were still at a good distance and pacing them, when the tiny white lines in the distance pointed right into the backs of the jets and engines began to explode. The effect was just as he had hoped it would be. Enough jets were hit that everyone else just punched out. There was one guy who just wasn’t going to give up though and he was coming after Zach. He exhaled sharply "Enough is enough I have given you too many chances already
and I will give you no more." He spoke something in the alien language again and the ship shot over the top of the jet. One wing was cut off and it side slipped down into the trees quickly erupting in an elongated explosion.
Zach looked back at Khrys and said, "let’s go home dear."
