The commoner laughs softly then pens,

Gentles,

It seems I recall certain "ladies" sticking their noses into matters that dinna concern them, indeed, doing so on more than one occasion and quite rudely. Lady Noelle hast a perfect right to comment ast she choses. Though I may disagree with her assessment of the Baron Sartan and that of Master Jake Heartman, she hast ast much right to make them ast anyone. Tis quite clear that the Baron Sartan is quite capable of penning his thoughts upon the
matter. I do applaud the Baron Var Medici-Giovanni for supporting his wife. Having been present for some of the witless accusations laid upon the Lady Noelle by certain "ladies", I would say that she has shown more than a modicum of gentile upbringing in maintaining her dignity in the face of some of the tirades directed at her in the dueling house.

Comments with regard to the Lady Noelle nae being a part of the dueling community are ludicrous and utterly lacking in intelligence. Yet were she ne'er to lift blade she certes adds a gentle and lovely presence to these ancient halls, nae to mention her grace and dignity.

Jake,

I shall do neither. You see, I have nae need to prove myself, nor lift blade unless I chose to do so. I do notice thee hast skirted the question of what makes thee consider thineself worthy of wearing a Baron's ring. Thee have shown little respect for the community, for the history or for those that frequent the dueling house, that tis plain. Thou art a bane upon the gene pool. One can only hope thou art nae permitted to procreate once thou art
nae longer damp behind thine ears.

Bluntly,
Jona.

<<1. Dal didn't show up for a match against Huma.
2. Huma fought Jeff in a honor duel. Huma loses and promises not to press challenge against Dal
3. Huma presses challenge.
4. Council gives Dal a defense for not showing, but a "censure" on his record.
5. All hell breaks lose...Ajay, Seamus, and Var going renegade over it.

Thats it in a nutshell....and please, I dont feel like getting attacked over this one. >>

Baron Cletus the confused.

One: Huma challenged Dalamar for the crown, M'lord Dalamar did in fact nae appear, he wast at the side of his dying father.

Two: Huma challenged Jeffrey to a duel, a duel which, had proper adjudication been made could have been an intercession since M'Lord Ar'Daumon had informed Master Nycholas De Gyrlington that the Baron Jeffrey wouldst indeed be permitted to intercede and the Renegade Baron, Magnus Eques wast present, should he have chosen to interceed against the Loyal Baron Jeffrey Oakenshield on behalf of the Warlord Huma Dragonbane. But I digress.

Huma then didst name the stakes of the duel. Should Huma win, the Baron Jeffrey wouldst stand down as Baron, forfeiting his ring. Should the Baron Jeffrey win, Huma didst state he wouldst rescind his challenge to Dalamar. The Baron Oakenshield didst soundly best the warlord Huma Dragonbane. Huma then didst state he had nae intention of honoring his word. Huma then didst seemingly have a change of heart and didst place a missive upon this ancient
corkboard stating he wouldst indeed honor his oath. Huma then didst have another change of heart, reneging on his pledge, that which he had done publicly following the duel. Twice Oathbreaker he.

Three: Master Nycholas De Gyrlington didst send the matter to the Council. The Council wisely took into consideration all that was known of that fateful evening. The Council's decision can be yet perused upon this ancient corkboard as well as that portion that was set aside by Madame Helix Girvin.

Four: Three Barons chose to realign themselves based upon the Council's decision, a decision, I might add, they they had a part in making. A side note, the then Baron Zen Rising took no part in the decision having left the realms.

Five: The once Loyal Baron, Seamus MacDonnaugh didst issue challenge to the Overlord. The Baron hast stated he had requested, while he stood loyal, that Lord Ar'Daumon step down as Overlord, something which, ast I have already commented to the Laird, I considered untoward. Laird MacDonnaugh wast bested in a verra closely fought series of duels.

There is much more to it than thou hast penned in thine "nutshell". Thine vastly simplified comment suits thee, however, for again I notice thee continues to describe thineself ast "confused". I do wonder when thee will have come to thine full manhood and learn to stand upon thine own two feet, nae to mention being able to form an opinion and hold to it in the face of the shouts of the witless mobs. Then and only then shall thee truly begin to
mayhap earn a modicum of respect. Thee have yet to "pay thine dues", Baron.

Hey Jona, your order of events is a bit off. Nycolas sent the matter to council, *then* me and Jeff had a duel. Get it right. It went to council well before anything happened.

Jonalyn~

As I recall, nobody asked you. But hey, I won't try to stop you from speaking your opinion. It's no big surprise that you find no fault in Noelle, for the same fault is in you.

Awaiting pointless reminders of past events that have nothing to do with the situation at hand,

Oathbreaker,

I beg pardon, Oathbreaker, indeed, let it nae be said I wouldna correct an error. Aye, let us get it straight. Master Nycholas De Gyrlington, did indeed send the matter to the Council.

Indeed ast I most clearly recall, neither Jeffrey nor Sartan wast permitted to hae a conference with Madame Helix ast did thee afore she most hastily didst depart the dueling house, seeming to have instructed Master De Gyrlington ast to what wast decided. Tis to me mind little doubt ye indeed set the stakes, having already ascertained that yuir challenge wouldna be set aside, nae ta mention, after Jeffrey didst most soundly trounce thee, ye didst
claim to hae thrown the duel. What a wondrous fione example of a warlord thee made, neh?

Madame Elgarette

Thine comments with regard to the Lady Noelle are most comical, considering thee dinna conceive of the possibility that thine own behavior mayhap reflects upon the Lord Dalamar. Yet ye would deign to instruct the Baron Medici-Giovanni that his wife's behavior mayhap reflects upon him? Now, I for one, dinna make such assumptions, but come to me opinions based on the individual. Thou art certes well aware of my opinion of thee, and ast ist usual, I
shall charitably presume tis thine usual hypocrisy or perhaps senility, or simply thine lack of good breeding.

Amusedly,

Jona, Jona, Jona,

Me avoid questions? This coming from the master of avioding them. I know you have avoided plenty of questions that have come your way. If I missed one of your questions it may have been because it is a little hard to read what you write. My eyes strain to try and read your words.

I really wished this wasn't brought up again, but how was Magnus to interceed on an honor duel. I don't believe it is in anyone's juristdiction to step in on two men in the midst of a duel of Honor. Stepping in on it would be a dishonrorable act in itself.

Hm...standing on my own feet and forming my own opinions...seems to me I have done that pretty well. Nobody changes my opinions. Least of all you. I hold my opinions in the face of the witless mob...witless mobs attack me all the time...do I back down? I don't think so. Oh, and Jona, it doesn't matter the slightest bit how much respect you hold for me. I actually would rather you hold none, for I do not wish to be held in your respect.

Quite amused,

Jonalyn~

Perhaps you should read all of my words before picking and choosing that which you would place judgement upon. I did not state that her actions reflect on him, but his protecting her when he knew (or at least should know, as any sane human being would) that she was wrong. That is what reflects on him. I would never look upon her actions alone to judge him. I look upon his choice of reaction alone.

I will, with equal charity, overlook the insult to my family that you had so gleefully thrown, in claiming my "lack of good breeding". I am sure my deceased parents would do the same.

Not amused in the least,

Ya know, I just have to add my two cents in here. A few of you are up here berating people for calling names. I know I for one have called names before, but it's pretty sad to slam someone for name calling then turn around and call a name yourself. Kinda like the pot calling the kettle black as the saying goes. I won't waste time being specific except in one case.

Jake, not that my opinion matters to you, but I think you are one of the most Unworthy people to challenge for a Baron's ring I have ever seen.
I pray Sartan spanks you like the child you are acting like. Grow up sir, enter the world of mature people. I see everyone slaming Jona, while the lady Jona and I disagree on much, at least she has more dignity in her pinky then you sir, have in your entire body.

Sartan, do us all a favor and win please.
