By the way, I'm still waiting for an answer to my question as to why Jona won't duel Drake.

Cas,

By all means, that was the simplest question yet. No one should answer, you should know it by now.

Oh Cass, I'm so glad you asked that! As SwiftBlade's hired gun for TDL scouting reports, I'm in on a ton of things going on around that league and I think you might find a juicy tidbit in this one. I'll tell you the story the way I heard it and then you figure out what happened.. well ok, I might coach a little... but if you ask me it looks like Drakewyn
here is ducking Jonalyn. Here's the deal:

The setting is Desperate, not Serious vs. Jade Gryphons - Team Dueling League, week 4.

Merewyne, captain of DNS and babe extraordinaire, is on a small vacation so assistant captain Brigath takes over. After corresponding with Drakewyne, captain of the Gryphons, a match schedule is determined and contains a matchup between the lady StarFare and fallen angel/stump lover, Cygnet Gnimoi. Also to be noted is that Captain Drakewyn has not scheduled herself to duel at all in this matchup.

Once she has seen the schedule, Jonalyn reports back to Brigath and tells him that because of previous conflicts between the two, it might be best if she not duel ol filthy wings. If not for the way the rest of the story unfolds, I'd probably think Jona was scared of Cyg.. but keep reading. Now aware of this potential conflict, Brigath approaches Drakewyn and asks that she consider using another member of the Gryphons against Ms. Starfare, or that
instead, he be allowed to sub out Jonalyn for a different duelist from DNS.

My sources tell me, that at this point Drakewyn explained that she was the substitute for her team that week and she would not get in the ring with Jonalyn and, further more, that she would not allow him to sub Jonalyn out. Basically forcing the matchup of Cygnet and Jonalyn to go forward.

Of course, for those curious as to how things played out. The Gryphons ended up taking the match from the Desperadoes. In the Jonalyn / Cygnet matchup though... well our little angel just couldn't keep her cool. After 11 rounds she couldn't take the pressure any more and began running away (read: 4 consecutive disengages).. refusing to fight until she finally gave up the match with a half hearted thrust in the 16th round, which Jonalyn knocked
easily to the side to take the win..... The league commissioner, ol' man Fox, ruled Cygnet to have thrown the match and suspended her for two weeks.

Now, if given the chance to replace this emotional basketcase with yourself and duel against someone you've got a ton of bad blood with. Would you duel? or duck out...

Jona, lass... thou hast left mine name off thy list of miscreants. I hereby confess to having made challenge to the overlord Daegarth Mithmellon less than a week after he won the crown.

In regards to quick challenges,

I think almost every single person who has gone for a title, has challenged someone who was just recently announced on the Standings. I beleive that is why they say you must wait till the Standings are posted reflecting the change in status of the titled rank and duelers involved. Otherwise, most challenges would come at the end of the challenge duel once the official announced the final results and the winner.

I personally don't really approve of it, because I think everyone should be given a chance to prove themselves. However, those with personal rivalries or other such personal issues between themselves and a new title holder see this as another reason to even the score or further tip the scale in their favor. I have been guilty of it before, and everytime I have done it I have felt justified.

Others may not beleive my justification, but it really doesn't matter what others believe when I am doing something I believe in is right now does it? To each their own, and their own standards, just be true to thyself in the end.

Personally I'd say our little Overlord is scared. That or he's just trying to make Jaycy look bad in public. So what is it Dex? Are you a wimp or a bully? If you wanna test her, go ahead and shove the damn test down her throat. Two points for you. Otherwise, get ready and fight the chick yourself, but don't try and put the pressure on her. You're the Overlord, pal; the path to the throne for Jaycy is your burden to deal with. Have a nice day,
punk.

That's all good and nice, but guess what?

This is DoS, not TDL.

Yeah well Aerenth, I'm tired of the hypocrisy around here, real tired.

I also know for a fact Jona tried to get out of the match with Cygnet in that TDL match,
but you know what? It doesn't matter anymore. My question is real simple: Why doesn't Jona get in the ring with Drake? Hmmm?

Could it be that contagious blue foot fungus Drake has? Or maybe that horrible wet-elephant-like smell? Heck, there's plenty of reasons Jona wouldn't get in the ring with her. Hopefully that answers your questions, sucker. Have a nice day.

Congratulations stud, you've proved you can read, although your comprehension hasn't made it past the 2nd grade level. I did mention that Jonalyn tried to get out of the match. Of course, come show time, she smacked Cygnet around like a red-headed step child, until the winged wonder couldn't take anymore and threw the match.

When I answered your question the first time, I made the mistake of thinking it was actually a question and not some propaganda stunt to help out Drakewyn's case. Should have known better.

TDL or DoS, a ring is a ring, and when given the chance to take her on, Drakewyn didn't budge. So who is ducking who?

By the way, where's the hypocrisy here? Even if Jonalyn and Drake do get in the ring and duke it out, what's it prove? Or are you the macho schmuck type who is firmly set in the "might means right" tripe?
