Isn't throwing mud a matter of opinion? Sure, you can write a post without insulting a single person...but if you state your views in them, and they don't agree with someone else's...that could be considered mud throwing on some level. Or you could not state them nicely enough, or you could not write neatly enough....
Basically, my miniscule point is that as hard as you try, it's inevitable that someone won't agree with you and will identify you as a mud-thrower. Which is not to say that we should accept that and break out fully into insults and arguments.
