Ta all,

Once all these ole blow hards be considered young - I done remember when ta Huma could only stumble down ta stairs and start screeching ta be let inta a ring, afor he even looked at ya. I done remember when ta Uzie be a commoner, and spend every waking moment begging people ta come thrash him. Just like some of those I hear decryied. And when ta Tiny be fighting so hard ta make her first rank that she said nae a word when she stepped in ta ring.


I done remembered when ta Dal be an upstart, and many ole timer done get it inta his head that he leave afor suffering through such a childish Over Lord. I done remember when ta G be fighting so hard, he barely hae time ta breath.

We be considered just terrible by those that came before us, an utter abomination ta ta "Honorable Duels." Look back through ta pages here on this ole cork board, and ya will stumble on reams of papers decrying our behavior. It used ta give us bad boys and girls a chuckle, as I recall.

Mayhaps, it help ta humble some who stick their noses in ta air. Never be afraid ta sit a spell with a young one, or ta invite them in for off hours and a bit of old fashioned fun.

Even though I agree with the sentiment of Gnort and Var, I would like to add (as I think they show without saying it), that there are still gems out there.

The fact that I return after months of absense, few recognize me, and I'm merely a Master at Arms, did not mean that the Overlord himself AND Gnort wouldn't consent to honor me with a duel the other night. Both treated me as though I were a warlord.

Rank isn't everything, an honorable duelist in an honorable duelist, whether they're the Overlord, or commoner (and I know commoners that in my mind put to shame some Overlords we've had). I'm also with Adonai in saying: slime is slime, no matter what badge you get to wear.
