Yup, I was also there to see "how I treated those who called me friend". You know what? There are things people do that make me lose respect for them, friend or not. It's funny how far off this whole point is when I wasn't even saying that you are treating Eros poorly as a friend. I was saying how I should have expected this, since you always say one thing but mean the
other.
But let's follow your example of friendship and challenge those we consider friend out of sheer boredom. Didn't you consider the seventh ring yours because of many things you did, including securing a perfect shutout against Elissa? Didn't Dal get a few of those? No, it was just boredom you wanted to take away which, by your standards, is his. Amusing.
You did fight for your honor last night, Adonai (at least that was my initial impression). Now you're challenging Eros for the sake of greed. Just because he pounded you a couple times doesn't ruin one's honor. In fact I thought it would humble you a bit, but by some freak of nature it inflated your ego to the point of an explosion should you sip some ale.
The way I figure, you challenged Dal because you wanted to wear the crown, but used boredom as your excuse. Now you're challenging Eros because you feel insulted. When Roland brings up your words to the warlords, you claim you brought it out a romance novel?
Please, Adonai. Don't be putting on the mask that you now read, especially not a romance novel. The mask of "security" you're using to cover yourself is almost believable. Please don't ruin that amusing impression.
If you want the crown, just say it. It's planted there on your forehead.

I am going to answer this in the most obvious and plain way I can, as to avoid any possible misperception or twisting as some like to immerse themselves in that kind of thing, much to the amusement of those who just ignore them anyway.
I have not lain challenge to Lord Eros again. I am thinking about it. Trying to seperate what I want and what I believe is truth. I will not challenge him again if I believe that it is out of personal greed versus truth of exipating myself from the personal disgrace.
And I do not dally with pulp bodice rippers Var. A romance is a book, like any other....usually having to do with grandiose quests, and honor and knighthood, good and evil, they were extensively called *romances* in long ages past. I have an extensive collection of rare works in my library, feel free to ask to peruse them at any time, as I found them to be rousing reads....though archaic in speech.

What else do you expect him to do? He can't realign you to loyal (I don't think he can, I'm sure I'll be corrected otherwise), but you sure can petition. When I challenged Var, it was over a point of Honor... and, no matter the outcome, I was prepared to let the matter be settled in the ring.

The duel was fought... and a truely honorable man will recognize that Honor has been satisfied by the duel being fought, not by the outcome of the duel.

I believe this is the first time I have ever written a message upon this particular cork. But I do not feel that I can be silent.
I must agree with the majority of what Lady Khrysta Wûlfgar has said. I do not know the situation, but I do feel that I have an inkling of an idea about Honour.
Please, do not take this wrong when I say what I have to say. I know many of you have a tendency to do so, which is why I do not often even read this particular collection of writings.
I consider myself a friend of both Lord Eros Hunrai Marzanhe DeBurgo and Lady Topaz DeBurgo. I have been a friend of the Lady for some time now, and therefore have accepted Lord DeBurgo as a friend. That said, let me get to my point as I am certain many of the more impatient patrons of the Swords are tiring.
Lord DeBurgo had every right to defend his wife's honour if something derogatory was said. However, that defense should have been against the individual who made the statement. I do not believe that he had the right to banish a Loyal Baron for simply laughing. Once he realized his mistake, I agree that he should have offered realignment, or at least the choice of realignment. If the Baron refused, then his Loyalty could not have been as strong
as he claimed it to be.
In this matter, there are many who are at fault, so I shall not try to place blame. However, Lady Wûlfgar is not one of them. She simply expressed her opinion, and if any wish to argue her right to do so, come and I will discuss it with you. In whatever fashion you wish.
