"1) The Staff of the Duel of Swords was not consulted on the dismantling of this message board."
::blinks::
Who here knows how absurd this statement is and why?
Maybe this could be part of Drey's trivia question of the week, eh?

"Sir Percy,
I still stand that all are responsible for the few, guilt by association. As, then it would be the right for the higher powers at be to take action. Example: A man takes the crown and hands it to his wife. He then proclaims that she is Overlord, as long as he can defend the title. That all actions she takes will be the actions of the Overlord. Would the officials not then be called in to settle that matter?"
These two circumstances are incomparable.
Your Overlord example is disallowed by the rules, period. Unless I'm mistaken, this sort of thing has been tried with a baron's ring, without success. Not to mention it involves the passing of title and crown, which are part of the sport. The sport IS the responsibility of the officials. Duelers insulting duelers are not.
To make "all responsible for the few" is flat out ridiculous. For one thing, nearly everyone in the rings-- except children-- are responsible for themselves and capable of taking that responsibility. We, the patrons of the rings, are not babysitters for every single dueler that can't control his mouth or pen. Censorship is just plain wrong. Naturally, we should be reasonable, and not post falsehoods about someone in an attempt at slander, but
posting the facts, or even an insult, is perfectly within our rights.

Hm... maybe that's 6 words... anyway, I'm not VERY responsible.

There's always exceptions. But generally most children I've known throughout my life aren't.

::adds a sentence to his post::
When I say "Responsible" I mean as in totally responsible for themselves, like having to raise and take care of themselves without depending on others. Something like that, though I fear in trying to clarify myself I may start more fires. As usual.

::Is truely beginig to wonder where the patrons get off::
To all,
Two barons now, like children that keep writing things to hurt one another, why? Part of honor states that any insult shall be ignored, for a person pointing one finger at you, points four at himself.
As for those who have fingers pointed at them. I have learned that success is not the measure of one's place in rank or skill, but the obstacles they have faced in getting where they are.

>>What ever happened to 'face to face' or a letter to them only?<< --Evan
It's more effective to embarress someone pubiliclly than privatly.
>>However, the boards are on anything but the topic half the time. I will even go as far to say the boards should be striped from DoS (except SL and important events: parties, births, etc.). Letters work well enough as does word of mouth. Maybe then people will
talk to each other in the Arena to catch up on the days events and get to know one another better. <<
You're wrong.
>>The boards if you want them in full power, are to be respected. A lot of people need to learn that.<<
You need to learn that the Purity Platoon needs to take their chasity belts off and learn what it's like outside of the little shack they've created for themselves and now feel that they must spread unto us. The bastards.
Personally, I wouldn't mind walking into that shack and stabbing them with a sharpened stick in the neck. Then I would chop them up into little bits of pieces, stick them underneath their "Praise All That Which Is Good" blanket and as I left, set the place on fire.
You see Evan, you need the negitive side, even in extreame cases, or else, you'll end up sounding like you do now... dumb and ignorant with a leech up your ass, sucking out your blood without you knowing it, which is why you are sounding so cranky.
Take that leech out of your ass, lie down for about a week to get your blood back running well then come back and say the same thing. You'll find that you don't mean it.
It must be misrable to be you... and boring.

Assuming I'm one of the aforementioned barons...
"To all,
Two barons now, like children that keep writing things to hurt one another, why?"
I haven't written anything to hurt anyone. I may be wrong but it seems to me you're upset because I don't agree with your view and I said so.

I'm not sure what the platitudes have to do with anything in this stack of posts, but once again I'll say I didn't write anything "like children...to hurt one another". I wrote things expressing my view. I don't agree with censorship, period. How is that hurting someone?

Personally, Evan, I don't see anything wrong with saying things face to face. However, I think it takes an equal amount of courage to stand up to a community and say what you believe.
To be honest, I don't know why the boards were taken down. Not much was said to eachother. Granted, there was bickering, but there has been for a long time. I think it's good that people here are standing up for themselves and writing what they think.

I agree that if someone feels something has gone to the extreme, then action should be taken. What is the correct action? Depends on the individual. Sometimes things happen that we don't like, and we have to deal with it however we feel is the right way.
I didn't like the boards being removed. I never would. The only thing I will be able to do is try to understand the motives of those who removed the boards.
The boards are back now, however, which is, needless to say, a good thing. I just hope the boards aren't removed again.

Agrenish Preescott:
You want a negative side? Eh, catch me in the mood. Yet, even you do have a few points ... well, points which support mine. What you said was enough to suit my tastes for the moment.
"Personally, I wouldn't mind walking into that shack and stabbing them with a sharpened stick in the neck. Then I would chop them up into little bits of pieces, stick them underneath their "Praise All That Which Is Good" blanket and as I left, set the place on fire.
"
Might that be what you call face to face? Well, I guess that is your mind and no one has the right to take it away from you. However, the mud landed this time on the RDI's which *gave* you your rank and Baron Ring(s). Without the callers, your arse would not be here. Your attention span to just sit and have fun would have run out quickly and you would have left most likely to go pick a fight.
With statements like Agrenish said, I am surprised that DoS is stilling running these days. If you want to bad mouth the RDI's or feel them inadequate *then leave*. You won't be missed for DoS will go on and if you have made your mark in DoS, will be in the books. So why should leaving scare you?

Xeric,
What exactly are you talking about? I gather that you may be talking about Zen and myself..but that in itself makes no sense whatsoever. First of all, Zen and I are very good friends, on the best of terms I may add. And we have echoed each others opinions so how are we "writing things to hurt one another" ? I have no idea what you are talking about and I don't think Zen does either, could you please clarify? It would be most appreciated.

No, because I posted it.
>>However, the mud landed this time on the RDI's which *gave* you your rank and Baron Ring(s).<<
That sounds a bit funny Evan... I remember going into the rings and beating little boys and girls like you in order to make a challenge in order to snatch that ring away. They called the duels... but of course, if you were reading, I was not talking about the DoS RDI's. So... who gave me anything boyyo? Your argument is as weak as it is irrelivent. Try again.
Shoot... your entire argument was based off that little fact. I have nothing left to shovel back at you. Oh wait, there is more.
Re-read my first post again. Then re-read this line.

::Figures he would have to tell what he said::
To all,
The two barons I spoke of have somehow got that I said they were insulting each other. Their wrong, I said two of them are now saying that only they have the right to do anything or have anything done. That to be a baron is to be a voice of what is right and whats is wrong. I said that I didn't believe that. A baron is only a warlord with a lucky night. They speak that they have great character. For they do not understand that they have is not
character but reputation. For mens word is reputation. What the angels say before the throne of god is character. Let is not think this is a insult of anykind but mearly the voice that they say I can speak to Barons.
