What ever the reasons the Baroness might find to challenge for the mantle o' Overlaird is her own for certain.
My point will be as clear in that matter as it is for her retention of the Fourth Ring.
She comes to defend it, and no more than that, without threat of removal from the standings.
Will she be an absentee Overlord as well?
Virtue is better revealed in action than in theory, and her actions speak volumes.
I would ask that you review your policies in regard to the worldly possessions such as rings and titles when it comes to your servants.

As for Sneggle the illerate, I find him no less ignorant than Guild God.
He is in need of a grammar lesson or two but he means well, I think.

Let me make this more clear: I, and many others, don't see fit to visit the arena and enjoy the act of dueling and socializing because the socializing, quite frankly, is of low quality. One of the greatest problems is those who place "participating in the sport" ahead of enjoying the atmosphere.
It has nothing to do with "matching skills." If I choose not to attend a dinner party populated by boors and buffoons, that, likewise, has nothing to do with food. Or, as another wise man once said, "When this ceases to be fun, that's when I cease to be doin' it."
The massive number of people who fail to grasp this concept is disheartening.

Well... yes, actually. Fairly well. Well enough to know the difference between Lord Elijah passing judgment on someone and Lord Elijah voicing his concerns about something. I've witnessed Lord Elijah passing judgment on dozens -- nay, hundreds of people, and the difference 'twixt A and B is striking.

Clearly, Baroness Wilder's spokesman understood Lord Elijah's intent, as can be demonstrated by the tone of his response.

All false modesty aside, 'this man' has helped save this sport repeatedly in the past. It was the advent of people who couldn't have cared less about the retention of the traditions of the sport which led 'this man' to shrug his shoulders and give up.

An arguable point, especially if you attempt to argue it with someone who remembers YEARS of the arena being packed for six hours a night four evenings a week.

Exactly right. That's the thing that upsets me the most about the Arena these days.
They say people should exersize common sense. But, Common Sense isn't Common. And that's apparent no more so than the Arena.
And before Sneggy goes saying "Yanno G, yer talk and yer talk, but yer ain't yerrin' and hangin' down in ther Arena, yer know, so yer opinion dun' count" I say, "Yes, I *have* been in the Arena lately. Slumming, so to speak, and it's still a Slum. I keep waiting for someone to say "Anyone wanna join a guild?" It's gonna happen, I know it.
