From: Ravyn Song
Ravyn reached the sacred grove, her heart beatin far to fast. It seemed to say 'Fail Not' with beat and every step of her small soundless boots. She looked at the small raise in the center of the grove. Honor still stood, the golden circlet hanging from it's hilt. Ravyn walked the endless short distance to the center of the stone circle. The grove felt empty, as if the Goddess had removed her hand from this scared place. Ravyn knelt, raising her arms and calling out to the Goddess. "Ceinwen, Lady....I beseech you to have mercy on me....Do not turn from me!" She knelt there, in a shaft of silver light, her eyes closed and arms upraised. After along time, her face fell and she knew what she must do. Slowly she pulled her dagger from it's sheath and held it up in the moon light. It glowed a golden light as she turned the blade and stretched out her right hand. Sheclosed her eyes and mind to the pain as she drew the dagger across her outstretched palm. Without thought she grasped the dagger in her bloody left hand and swiftly sliced her right palm. She dropped the knife, then, the pain and the blood taking her. Ravyn raised her arms once more, the blood running down her arms as she called once more with blood to bind her need. The Goddess walked into the grove, her face a mask of controlled anger and pity. "Why have you called me here, Ravyn? To bind me to your will?" The Goddess came closer, stand above the kneeling suplicant. "No, lady..." Ravyn whispered, "twas to see your face one last time." The Goddess smiled then, her anger dissapating withRavyn's truth. Ravyn felt the Goddess' hand on her head like a benediction. "Go my child...." her face was lifted up to look into the shining face of light., "take with you yon sword... you have earned that much from me." The Goddess looked up and then down. "you must hide yourself now, take care my child." Ravyn felt her kiss and she was gone. Ravyn stood quickly, the blood barely seeping from her hands as she stumbled to hide at the edge of thegrove. A man stepped into the grove, and it was HIM. Ravyn's grief and anger were still raw wounds and she stayed in her place. She watched as he walked to the blade that was once his, and was to be hers. He reached down and pulled on the hilt. She could see his face, his hand pulling again and again on the unmoving sword. She felt his dispair and his deep pain, but she had nothing that she could give to him to change what had happened. The world hadturned, and the gulf was too great. She had watched him fall to his knees, his grief almost twin to her own. But there was no easing here for either of them. She murmurred the familair curse of the Goddess and watched as he disappeared. No longer would he be able to find this place. Ravyn walked to the Circlet and Sword. She took the Circlet and placed it lightly on her brow, the sword *Honor* slid soundlessly into it's sheath. Ravyn smiled slightly to her self as she walked from this scared place. Still apart of the Goddess.
