>>As well as I see it as a classy act by all of House Oakenshield. Just my opinion.<<
My opinion too, actually. I wouldn't say I was Jeff's biggest fan, but this just goes to show why most people around here respect him. Not just for his dueling, but because he has earned it in other ways too.

<<5 fancies might help someone get a better rank so it could lead ta far greater prizes. >>
Baron Oakenshield, you just sparked a question in my mind: Does the winner get to keep the WoL they may gain while wearing the 8th or 12th and maybe using fancies? I realize
that's probably a dumb question but let me ask it anyway.
And guys...for those who are criticizing just who wins this Tournament has accomplished-it does seem that some are doing that in veiled ways- think of it this way: 64 people. The winner has to defeat 6 duelists in a row. In the Arena, if a Commoner did this, they would no longer be a Commoner, they would be a Master at Arms with a bit of rank security. If they were a Grand Master,t he highest rank allowed on the field, doing this....they would be a
Warlord, no matter if their WoL was 10 or 14. My point? They would definitely prove they can rise in the ranking.
Jeff.....Good job. No, take that back. Splendid job.

She sighs as she reads the board, going to find Jeff after she does... "You know, I don't think a single person read what I posted. Maybe they'll read what you wrote, but I kinda doubt it. Seems to me they just like complaining."
Going back to the board, she posts a quick note.
If you're not dueling in the Tourney, just shut up about it. This is silly.

Ok, challenges are out....
I got an idea! Since it wasn't covered by Jeff or Drake-cakes, what happens if the queen for a day decides to forfiet the ring up, retire it even?
I think Jeff better run to old glitter-britches and amend the rules to include that too.

::Seeing the posting, he smiles in total delight, relieved that someone would be so helpful to peoples of the lowest rank. Quickly reading everyone's words, he grabs a sheet of flimsy, and begins to rapidly scroll his own thoughts upon it::
Jeff,
You have instigated an event that I have waited for since I began dueling here. I did not even consider the possibility of someone being so thoughtful, and kind to those of us who are new or not good at this sport. I have always dreamed of doing something to this extent, but was afraid of getting booed down, and critisized by those who believe that such an event was silly and uncooth. I am glad that someone with so much respect and prestige could
brave the possibility of incurring such an event, and has even defended it rather adamently. You can count me in for this event. If I can be of ANY help to you, please, let me know.
On another note:
To those of you who "believe" that you're superior to commoners or those of lower ranking, I absolutely pity you and your obviously screwed notions of grandeur. A commoner can be just as an effecient or methodical dueler as anyone else. They just cannot fancy.
To Agrenish,
Obviously you're the kind of person who'd slap a baby on the mouth for spitting up it's food. I've found you to be an arrogant, rude, and severely immature individual. Do you boo down this event because a meager commoner might actually achieve a position that you've obviously haven't held in quite awhile? You must remember that you were a commoner once yourself. Perhaps someone abused or hurt your feelings in a severe extent. It matters not to
me. I must agree with Jeff by saying that you ARE a snot nosed punk. You remind of that annoying crap that just doesn't want to dislodge itself from the soles of my boots. To put it rather bluntly, you're a knob, and an ass.

Not to appear like a guy that wants peer wins or anything, but...
If you defeat them when they are baron and you're a warlord, does it count as a peer win?
- If the above is a "yes," Answer this... ~~~
And when they drop from baron to a lower ranking, would they still count as peer wins?
Just a few questions...

>>Do you boo down this event because a meager commoner might actually achieve a position that you've obviously haven't held in quite awhile?<<
Kid, at least I earned that goddamn position the way all the other shmucks have.
>>Obviously you're the kind of person who'd slap a baby on the mouth for spitting up it's food.<<
I wouldn't be around babys in the first place, ignorant lump. You shouldn't be dueling while you are possessed with bad metophores.
>>You must remember that you were a commoner once yourself.<<
It lasted a week.
>>I've found you to be an arrogant, rude, and severely immature individual.<<
Aroogant... rude... heard before... What's so immature about telling the brutal truth about the way I feel about the joke of prizes? Damnit, at least I tell the goddamn truth you little snotty commy. You should appriciate that, look around here at your leaders, how many of the people around here can you say that about? You are as blind as you are dumb and nameless.
I hope you're done talking. I'm done listening.

Placing a missive on the board:
Dear Jeff,
I think your tourney is a grand idea. I would be honored to even participate.
Thank you for organizing this event. I shall make every effort to get back my commoner standing so I might participate.

Warlord Starke...
Did you read my post?
I'll copy the relavant section... "The winners of the Tourney, for the duration of the two weeks, will be allowed to duel in regulation dueling hours as a Baron... including the duels being counted as peer duels when fought against Warlords."
Since I'm the one who verifies the peer wins, that should answer your question.

~Agrenish~
Now I truly understand why you are not liked. And yet again, I pity you. I will not stoop down and attempt to see the world through the tiny perspective that you obviously see it with. You're a sad, disturbed individual. And I will only express pity for your pathetic attitude, actions and words. In reply to your bad "metophores," I was merely implying that if you had a child, brother, sister, etc., you'd probably abuse them the way you
abuse others around here. You're a poor person. And I feel comfortable with the fact that I can act older than you when I am younger than you. You have no idea how happy that makes me. And just how little that makes you look. I would say have a nice day, but then, I'd be lying through my teeth saying even that.

Why is it that asking the extent of the prizes is automatically presumed to be criticizing the tournament itself?
Jeff's initiative to host this event is to be lauded. Anyone going out of their way to sponsor an event for those who would not otherwise get to experience deserves quite a bit of credit.
The curiosity about the prize is to see how warranted the tantrum he threw at the RDI staff was. The difference of awarding the use of up 5 fancies for two weeks and getting their names highlighted in the standings are what was earned by having it done with official blessing.. whereas without it, Jeff and Avery could just as well have let the winners wear the rings for two weeks. Probably not worth the display, but that's just my opinion.

No sir, you just know how to act like every other hidden child, bound up on the inside. How does it feel to be boring? I hope it feels good, you're making me tired with the same speach I've gotten close to around a hundred times since being here.
Let me ask you something, when you're not having fun, what do you do?

If House Oakenshield is in need of someone to call official duels, I again, offer to call. I just hope that the winners of the tourney are able to make warlord within the two weeks, so they don't lose the peer wins they acquired during their tenure as a baron.

Most esteem daimyo Oakenshield I am of humble opinion that your tournament is fine example of initiative in great tradition of bushido. Should I defeat champion of warlord tournament to remain overlord, I would be very honored to receive a challenge from you for the title.
