Ah, hell, can't let him have all the fun..

I, Sidartha Quelani Elgarette, Baroness of the 666th ring hereby challenge Overlord Ian Ryan MacKenzie for the mantle of Overperson.

I propose a wrestling match, and would kindly request no official be present. Winner gains the mantle and loser gets to give the new Overlady a foot massage.

I claim the vacant Ninth Ring as my own, in addition to the Eighth which I hold already. The Ninth Ring will be Renegade to the new Overlord, while the Eighth will stay loyal.

Does that make Galin a neutral now? Oh, so confusing . . .

Sorry...I called the Ninth before Rix or Zen even mentioned theirs.

Oh, lord... I'm confused. I think... maybe... the proper response here is to have Sartan beat Galin HALF to death. Or, perhaps, only rough up the left side of his body. Hmm. This requires thought.

I, Tarl Cabot, being one of the oldest (by actual time dueling, not by number of duels or actual age) denizens of these rings, hereby declare myself as a neutral renegade that is loyal to the 39th Overlord, Ian.

I make this declaration as a war Lord, and have no desire to claim a Baron's ring out of fear that it will irrevocably lower my intelligence. My intelligence, of course, is already dangerously low from having spent too much time in this place. However, it is my belief that prolonged exposure to any of the Baron's rings further lowers one's intelligence with very little exception..

I do not wish any preferential treatment from the Overlord, however I would like to have special consideration. I believe that preferential treatment and special consideration should be considered two completely different things.

In return for my loyalty as a neutral renegade, I vow not to challenge Ian's authority, unless asked very nicely by any woman living in Nova town. In addition, I will defend Ian from any challenge. If this results in me having to defend Ian from myself, I may request the aid of a scientist familiar with the art of cloning.

Long-live the Overlord,

Tarl Cabot
neutral renegade (loyal)

Warlord Cabot:

I am simply... confused. But that's alright. I am more than happy to give you special consideration without any preferential treatment, as I consider that the only way to go, really.

Your neutral renegade loyalty is, indeed, welcome, accepted, and appreciated. I am honored.

Wait, so if Cabot is a nuetral Renegade that stands loyal, does that mean that he has the ability to challenge, interceed, champion, and only be challenged once a month? And seeing as how everyone is claiming stakes to the ring which I called first, and for some reason Altara gave it to the winner of the tourney, I beg of Overlord MacKenzie to place me in charge of, 'overlord of the decorations of the duel of
swords arena (located beneath the Red Dragon Inn).' First matter of business will be to hang a giant portrait of the new overlord from the ceiling.

"Wait, so if Cabot is a nuetral Renegade that stands loyal, does that mean that he has the ability to challenge, interceed, champion, and only be challenged once a month?"

Actually, it's like this, Gunthar:

Baron Cabot could challenge me, have me demand that he step into the ring to test his own worthiness, then duel himself in an intercession to block the test.

Of course, as soon as he loses, it's all over. And, yes, he can only be challenged once a month, except during months when he challenges me, in which case he gets a queue (not to mention a visit from Baron Sartan).

"I beg of Overlord MacKenzie to place me in charge of, 'overlord of the decorations of the duel of
swords arena (located beneath the Red Dragon Inn).'"

Why does everyone want to be "Overlord" of something? We can only have one Overlord, you silly people. I can make you Duke of the decorations, would that work?

"First matter of business will be to hang a giant portrait of the new overlord from the ceiling."

A fine idea. I don't understand why this wasn't done years ago anyway.

Why a portrait of past reigning Overlords hasn't been hung from the ceiling? Or is this the expression of some narcisstic (and perhaps slightly perverse) desire to hang from the ceiling yourself that you have nourished all these years, Ian?

No, you peasant, I meant a giant portrait of ME.

Thank you, that was what I wanted to know. It definitely falls under the second half of my question then.
As for superficial name calling, I would think you would treat someone who wishes you success in your usurpation more graciously. Or I might decide to beat Sartan up and then you'd need a new henchman.

What superficial name-calling? I'm the Overlord, and a tyrant; hence everyone else is a peasant. See?

Oh, I see your point. I suppose I should seriously rethink my attitude here. How about you send Sar around to see me Saturday night and see if he can change my mind before I finish rethinking my stance? Thanks.
