Lady Starfare... Jonalyn,
If you hated everyone who accidentally messed up a challenge, by any means, the most common being what Jaycy did, using invalid peer wins, then you would hate a lot of people in this realm. I could let this go, just as you not liking the fact that she did this...that she messed up a challenge, but it seems that every post you place on these boards, you have to mention that. It really is not, nor never was that big of a deal.
If you cant understand the feelings of someone who's friend had been killed, the passion behind it, no matter whether it was purposeful or not, dear lord Marzan, I know it wasnt.... if you cant understand how the blood heats under passion, then that makes you cold.
~~ I for one must wonder that if she wished nae to offer her loyalty unto someone she claims nae to know she might hae considered standing neutral. ~~
I dont want to put words in Jaycy's mouth, for I havent really talked with her on this issue, but I feel after reading the posts that she was renegade because 1-she didnt know him, okay, not loyal....2-she didnt agree with him coming out of the blue and challenging for the crown..okay...there goes neutral. Renegade. Being renegade doesnt mean she passed judgement on Dex's soul or anything, she just felt a little less loyal than nuetral.
On the part of the WoL factor, well, I'd personally rather see an overlord with over 15, but then again, I really dont care. If she makes a good leader, which from being on the Gauntlet, under her captain hood, I know she is, then I dont care what her WoL are. Hell, I wouldnt care if she had LoW's. The overlord, in my opinion, has never been a "supreme dueler" as Ecore would put it. If it was, I think Jeff would be Overlord. The Overlord is a
representation of the "good things" in DoS, and a representation of the people. (There too, Jeff could still be overlord.)
M'lady Jonalyn, we've always been pleasant to one another, and please dont let my beliefs change that. I just am curious, why, truly, you hate Jaycy with such a passion. What contempt could there possibly be to such a "nice" person. She's really a sweet gal.
Sincerely, and in all Respect,
Sir Father Leo Caius Cassius Pride

>> A man's worth does not rest solely in the number beneath a column marked "W"; rather, worth is measured by many, many other factors. <<
>>If this was the case, why were the ranks of commoner, swordsman, master at arms and grand master set up.<<
Ooh, I just have to take issue with this. People who are Warlords are worth more than lesser ranks? People increase in value as they gain rank? The ranks have to do with achievement in the sport. Not personal worth. Big difference. There are people of lower ranks worth much more than some of our upper ranks. Likewise there are duelists who will be worthless regardless of rank.

It says specifically in the Swords Rules, the Overlord shall be known as the Supreme Dueler of the sport.
That doesn't neccessarily qualify Jeff to be the only and best Overlord just because he has the most WoLs and has denfend his title a bunch of times. Though it does him make him a leading canidate.
Jeff should never be Overlord for calling fellow peers Jackasses and saying their opinions are of the same worth. Though I may not agree with alot of people here, I agree they have the right to their opinion and to share it with whoever.

I thank thee for thine comment. I shall add that I wouldst hae been surprised hae thee accepted. Thou hae stated oft that thee hae nae anna desire to hold title in these ancient halls and t'would be verra unlike thee to renege upon thine statement without apprising the community of thine stance aforehand ast well ast thine reasons. I shall also add mine opinion in that I expect Madame Ashleana pre-supposed afore she requested thee to challenge
that thee would indeed refuse. Further I am aware of another who hae thoughts of pressing challenge unto Madame Ashleana, one who wast sorely disquieted by the comments of others when the intent wast made known unto them, and one who wast seemingly discouraged in the pursuit by certain personages. Rest assured I shall seek out those involved and learn ast I am able the circumstances.

Thou presupposes I "hate" Madame Ashleana. Sir, tis nae such an emotion I do hold for annaone. Yet ast well I shall nae, by silence, condone such deception and deceit by annaone, friend or foe. Thee may condone such, thee may consider it simply an "accident". I do hold that anna what hae reached the rank of warlord and who dost choose to press challenge hast the responsibility to, at the verra least, abide by the simplest rules of engagement.
Madame Ashleana nae only dinna do such, for t'was she herself what writ the letter of challenge unto the then Baron Evan Rush Rynth, she then placed her servant in the forefront ast to the one who didst handle her affairs, eschewing any responsibilty in the matter. She then, knowing of her own perfidy didst stand silent for well over a month, in hopes that her deed wouldna become public knowledge, in hopes perhaps, that none of the then Barons nor
mineself wouldst bring her perfidy unto the light of day.
Perhaps thou consider those who didst endure the penalty for hasty and improperly offered challenges ast to be lesser personages than Madame Ashleana and deserving of their fate? Dost perhaps consider that Madame Ashleana, being in thine terms a "nice" person and "really a sweet gal", should nae be bound by that which bound those others?
Simply because she may hae the wherewithall to hae thee proclaim her ast a "good leader" in that she ist Captain of the Gauntlet, dost nae make her so. If thee wish to speak of the Captains of the Teams, I do hold that the Captain of the Desperate Nae Serious, Merewyne Bane Braynneth, ist far and away the best Captain in the League. Her leadership, her grace, her support of the team, her manner in enduring all manner of situations with diplomacy
and aplomb sets her, to me mind and rest assured to that of all the DNS team, far and away the best Captain in the league, this season ast well ast last.
Ast I hae said, I care nae for her bona fides, nor didst I care that Senor Cristian de Oro's record hae fallen. Tis again, I shall state in agreement with Jeffrey Oakenshield ast well ast others, that a record nae ist a measure of a personage. Their actions, their deeds, that ist what be the measure. Think thee for example, and I wouldst hope he shall forgive mine mention of him, that the Bishop, Fandral Kurgan, couldna hae taken the mantle nigh
annatime he hae wished ta? Think thee ast well, that the Baron Jeffrey Oakenshield couldna ast well do so?
Thou dost state that, in thine opinion, the Overlord is a representation of the "good things" in the Duel of Swords. Dost then hold that a perfidious, self serving, bald faced lying wench, be a "good thing" to represent the community? I dinna. Much ast I held that Gnimish Gnimoi wast nae one to be held ast a "good thing" to represent these ancient halls, ast well ast holding that Eros Hunrai Marzanhe DeBurgo wast nae a "good thing" to represent
these ancient halls. Rest assured, hate dinna enter into the equation, sir. Tis that simple.

~~Thou presupposes I "hate" Madame Ashleana. Sir, tis nae such an emotion I do hold for annaone
perfidious, self serving, bald faced lying wench,
Rest assured, hate dinna enter into the equation, sir.~~
Madam,
Listen to yourself.
HATE:
1 : to feel extreme enmity toward
2 : to have a strong aversion to : find very distasteful
Perfidious, bald face, lying wench. That sounds like extreme enmity. Its sounds, "very distasteful". Again, your writings are riddled with contradictions and oxymorons.
~~at the verra least, abide by the simplest rules of engagement.~~
Its not exactly like she meant to issue an illegal challenge. What sense would that make?
~~Perhaps thou consider those who didst endure the penalty for hasty and improperly offered challenges ast to be lesser personages than Madame Ashleana and deserving of their fate?~~
When did I say that? Did I ever say "yay! Good job Jaycy for issuing a failing challenge!" ? No. Endure the penalty? Come now, how many times has someone messed up their peer wins? What happens? They lose their peer wins and their right to challenge that cycle, thats in, no controversy, no real contempt.
~~Simply because she may hae the wherewithall to hae thee proclaim her ast a "good leader" in that she ist Captain of the Gauntlet, dost nae make her so. ~~
Actually, Jonalyn, it does. Thats how people are termed as good leaders. By their followers. She's always been incredibly reasonable and responsible with her duties as captain of the Gauntlet, and I have witnessed such.
~~ I do hold that the Captain of the Desperate Nae Serious, Merewyne Bane Braynneth, ist far and away the best Captain in the League.~~
Like I said before. Leaders are termed as good leaders by those who are led by them. How do you know that Merewyne is the "best" Captain? (I'm sure, of course that she is quite an excellent leader if you say she is) Have you been under the leadership of every TDL Captain in the league? Man, talk about a free agent. You seem to know the heart and soul of every single person in DoS. Your entire preceding comment is absurd.
~~Bishop, Fandral Kurgan, couldna hae taken the mantle nigh
annatime he hae wished ta? Think thee ast well, that the Baron Jeffrey Oakenshield couldna ast well do so?~~
Of course they could have. And they would have been excellent leaders I'm sure. (If what I hear of the first two is accurate. I expressed in my last post that "...representation of the "good things" in DoS, and a representation of the people. (There too, Jeff could still be overlord.) " But what does that have to do with Jaycy?
~~Thou dost state that, in thine opinion, the Overlord is a representation of the "good things" in the Duel of Swords~~
Let me rephrase then. The Overlord SHOULD BE a representation of the "good things" in DoS. I dont really remember Gnimish, but there is no doubt in my mind that DoS has probably seen some rather crummy overlords.
~these ancient halls~
Ah, these ancient halls, these ancient halls. They're not that old. There are people here who have been here since the building of this place. That, to me, doesnt imply ancient. Stop putting so much transcendental meaning in these bricks here. They've seen a lot mind you, but they have a lot more to see.

Summer,
I shall nae speak for anna but meself. Madame Ashleana's gender hae nae annathing to do with annathing. I wouldna care if she wast male, female, neuter, sentient, non sentient, alive or dead, or for that matter hae arrived in these ancient hall upon the first day that the first duel wast called. Tis her deceitful manner and that alone what to me mind makes her unfit to e'en hold title and ring let alone hae the termerity to seek the crown. I
might also add her secretive manner in seeking to keep the community at large unaware of her challenge. Tis she didst the verra same thing with regard to her setting the time and place of her duel with the former Baron Evan Rush Rynth. What dost she fear, or for that matter, what fears anna challenger that they prefer to keep such information from the community at large?
T'was a time anna warlord or for that matter anna Baron what cast down the gauntlet, did so proudly and forthrightly. Fear they the comments and opinions of the community?

Thee seem to think thee know mine heart. Thee dinna. Thee ast well canna discern opinion from emotion. Rest assured, hatred I hae been accused of more oft than I care to count. Hatred ist a destructive emotion. I am a plain spoken lass. Madame Ashleana indeed hast lied, indeed ast well she hast yet to accept responsibility for her actions. If she dinna mean to present illegal challenger, wherefore didst she press her challenge after being made
aware t'was improper? Dost she yet claim her servant failed to apprise her? Dost she yet plead ignorance?
Thee may consider her a good leader. I wouldst nae hae her ta lead annathing.
Bluntly,

PS: Sidartha Elgarette, ast usual thee know nothing and comment from thine usual stance of utter ignorance. Nae a surprise.

If one wast to judge by one's followers that one ist a good leader, one must then perhaps attribute to the followers the same mindset ast that displayed by the leader.
I mineself dinna subscribe to that philosophy, much ast I dinna subscribe to the philosophy of rushing to judgment nor attributing like mindedness to a group that dost claim friendship among themselves. Were I to subscribe to that philosophy I wouldst hae then to consider anna and all that support Madame Ashleana ast being equally perfidious. I dinna.
I find it utterly droll that thee wouldst comment that I wouldst seem to know the heart and soul of every single person in the DoS, whilst at the same time thee seem to claim that thee know mine own. I hae stated mine own opinion of Merewyne Bane Brannath, nae that of annaone else, yet know thee, I couldst, in good conscience state that the entire team feels and thinks of her ast highly ast I do. Wherefore thee might wonder how I wouldst deign to
make such a statement for mine teammates. Tis simple, I asked.
I shall disregard thine obviously rhetorical comments ast simply emotional outbursts. I shall also comment that leading a team of duelers does nae in and of itself qualify one to hold the mantle and Crown of Overlord.
I shall also state this ast clearly ast I am able. Madame Jaycynda Ashleana shall ne'er hold mine respect nor mine support for in that she has shown herself repeatedly, nae but once, but repeatedly to be deceitful, unwilling to shoulder the responsibility for her actions, lain blame upon others for her own deeds, held her tongue and pen knowing full well that those who bore the brunt of insults hae indeed spoken and writ truly and continues to seek
to appear ast utterly blameless, honorable, truthful and trustworthy. No where upon this ancient cork do I find anna missive by the Baroness requesting she be challenged. The only information be that provided by the Warlord Ian Ryan MacKenzie, he who certes would hae refused challenge by the Baroness. Were the Baroness so intent upon being challenged, I for one find it curious that she wouldst nae hae address her desire unto the community at
large. Perhaps she sent missives unto the warlords requesting such, unbeknownst to the lesser ranks? One wouldst presume that one who claims to hae desired challenge certes may hae found among the warlords one desiring to seek the title.
I am certes thee shall correct me if I err, but wast it nae thee what retired thine ring following a duel with G'nort and didst retire for a wee while, only to return and reconsider thine retirement? If I am nae in error, thee didst abide by the rules of engagement upon thine return and thine ring wast given o'er to the officials to be offered in a warlord's tourney. Again, the question goes begging. Wherefore ist Madame Ashleana to be held above
anna other that hast abided by the rules of engagement? Wherefore ist she to be lauded ast honorable when, in fact, she ist indeed, a deceitful, bald faced, lying wench? I care nae if she be considered the salt of the earth, she dost taint the ring she holds ast well ast Truth and Honor. She dost taint her ring e'en ast Elijah Basia Uhr didst taint his earning of the Eighth Ring in the Warlord's Tourney which named the Original Nine Barons, by his
use of an unearned maneuver.
