Easy. Why leave newly born alone? ::shrugs:: I know I'd give it as much attention as possible. She may have someone to stay with her. But still, she took a leave of absence. Doesn't that mean she won't be around? Right? That's what I thought. Then she comes back anyhow, posting and everything, Challenge matches and etc. Isn't she taking a break? That's what
I thought. To stay with her newly born. With her family. To take care of them. I don't get it.

How ever instead of admitting the fact that you are licking your wounds over defeat when I said quit bitching, get the peer wins and try to regain the ring, you chose to attack Drake's personal life and choices. Pardon me, I get offended when people attack my friends."

As a matter of fact, I did address Karen's actions (or the matter of making a private matter public, what Karen is accused of) to G in my last response to him. You then assume I am sore over losing when I said nothing until I read Drake went on a vacation when she just got back from one.
The clarification was needed since some are arguing points without even reading the posts.

I'll try to make this brief so slow people can read it.

Working as a staff member takes up allot of time, and that time is mandatory, every day. You can't just duck out on it all the time.

Reading a few messages, writing a few, and occasionally dueling takes a small amount of time, and can usually be done at your convenience.

It is possible to drop by for an hour or so every once in a while without neglecting children.

It is much harder to be around constantly, keeping an eye on official duties and making sure nothing gets horribly out of whack (or revealed before its time), without neglecting children in the process.


See?

One more time: Working, takes up more time than playing. You can take a vacation from work, without having to take a vacation from play. You can also take a vacation from play, without taking a vacation from work. Isn't life fun how it works?

Maybe if I explain it a third way:

Project A takes six hours a week.

Project B takes one hour a week.

Person needs to free up five hours during the week.

Drop project A...there is no reason to drop project B.

After perusing your missive, I must inquire with regard to the following statements by Karen Wilder and by Eros DeBurgo on the twenty first in the basement. Ms. Wilder announced, "Yep... E'en Dal's gittin' challenged.", where in she didst point to Eros DeBurgo. The then warlord, DeBurgo didst respond, "Me what? I didn't do it! Whatever it is!" Wherein Karen Wilder didst state and I quote, "Ya did too... da cripple-gal tol' me ya did." The
crippled girl being one Karen Jansen, the Standings Keeper. The then warlord Eros DeBurgo commented, and I quote, "I have only sent my intent. The rest is yet to be discerned I have not even formally challenged." in response to a statement made by Ms. Wilder.

Prithee, Master Evermeadow, though wilt note that t'was Ms. Karen Wilder herself didst state that Karen Jansen, the Standings Keeper didst apprise her of the challenge. Further thee might note that Eros DeBurgo clearly stated he had sent his intent. The presumption wouldst be that Eros DeBurgo had sent a missive unto the appropriate parties of his intent to challenge.

Further upon the twenty second eve, I didst inquire of the Standings Keeper, Karen Jansen, if she had been speaking with Karen Wilder of matters pertaining to a challenge. Whereupon she didst at first shake her head in the negative, then didst comment, and I quote, "No... oh wait, yes... when Marzan was discussing the matter with me, she was there... something about her wanting to challenge Dal as well."

Master Evermeadow, I had not, at that point, indicated to which challenge I was making reference. Further inquiry brought forth the following comment from Karen Jansen, "The three of us were discussing it at the same time... That sort of thing happens amoung friends..." Though I dinna ask nor e'en mention at that point the name of Karen Wilder, the presumption is that the "she" to whom Karen Jansen wast making reference wast Ms. Karen Wilder.
I didst inquire of Karen Jansen, the Standings Keeper, if she felt free to discuss matters pertaining to a challenge that had as yet to be announced publicly by either the challenger or the challenged. Ms. Jansen responded and I quote, " As I said, the three of us were in the same room at the same time discussing the same matter...Now, what does that have to do with you?"

I didst comment to Ms. Jansen that it seemed she felt free to discuss matters which more properly and traditionally are announced by the challenger or the challenged, to which she commented, "Jonalyn, if Marzan didn't want miss Wilder to know of his challenge, he wouldn't have discussed the matter in front of her."

Further I didst discuss the matter with Eros DeBurgo upon the eve of the twenty first, wherein the then warlord didst state unto me that Karen Wilder had found out the information from Karen Jansen, the Standings Keeper and told someone in the arena. Eros DeBurgo went on to comment that Karen Wilder must have been implying that his, Eros DeBurgo's, challenge had been approved, on the presumption that Ms. Karen Wilder would not have made the
comment if his challenge had not been approved. Eros DeBurgo then went on to request that I say nothing with regard to the matter until his challenge had been formally approved by Karen Jansen. He seemed disquieted, possibly concerned that should a question arise the validation of his challenge might in some way be jeopardized.

In further discussion with Eros DeBurgo the eve he had placed the formal challenge notice upon the corkboard, he didst state that he had at first sent his challenge notification unto thee, Master Evermeadow, unknowing that the current standings Keeper is one Karen Jansen, the declared agent acting for Madame Drakewyn Alabaster Silvertree, who was hired in a temporary capacity to do the job following the taking of a Leave of Absence by Bridgette
DiGregorio. Further, Bridgette DiGregorio's retirement as Standings Keeper was announced in the official standings as was her leave of Absence as was the appointment of Karen Jansen as Standings Keeper. Eros DeBurgo implied that I was commissioned to sabotage his challenge, a statement which I chose to disregard as utterly ludicrous.

Now I must say, I am a bit taken aback that Madame Drakewyn Alabaster Silvertree, who was appointed seemingly as a temporary replacement for Bridgette DiGregorio, makes the statement that Karen Jansen is acting as her "agent" in her capacity as Standings Keeper, supposedly filling in for Madame Silvertree during her "vacation." The Standings Lists dated the tenth day of the first month quite plainly list one Karen Jansen as being the Keeper
of the Standings. Now the question comes wherefore and by whom was Madame Drakewyn Alabaster Silvertree given the authority as one who was hired as a temporary replacement for the retired Bridgette DiGregorio to take it upon herself to usurp the duties of the Supervisor of the Duels, yourself Master Evermeadow as well as that of Master Thorn, who I believe is the one who alone has the capacity to hire for the Red Dragon Inn and it's environs.

I might add that I am somewhat taken aback as well that the current Overlord, former warlord, Eros DeBurgo, prior to issuing his challenge seemed not to be cognizant of those that were named as the officials of the Duels, including thineself, Master Evermeadow. Tis thee hae been listed ast Supervisor of the Duel of Swords upon the official standings lists since the fifteenth day of the eleventh month of the year past. Tis nae ast if that
information ist nae readily available as wast the appointment of Karen Jansen as Keeper of the Standings.

Perhaps, Master Evermeadow, thou might consider a more thorough investigation into the matter, and, since thee hae stated thee shall nae call for Ms. Karen Jansen's resignation, thou wilt consider censure and instructions unto her that tis traditionally left unto the challenger or the challenged to make official announcement of a pending challenge and that tis the duty of the Standings Keeper with regard to challenges to simply verify the bona
fides and inform the challenger and the challenged ast well ast the Council of Barons. Further, though t'was traditional for the Standings Keeper to announce upon the corkboard the validation or nae of an offered challenge, that hast seemingly fallen by the wayside.

Too oft of late hae some improperly issued challenges been permitted to proceed yet others hae been denied. The most glaring of recent examples being the improperly issued challenge of Madame Jaycynda Ashleana which wast permitted, and the negation of the challenge of the warlord Unagi for precisely the same error made by Madame Ashleana. Tis the then warlord, Eros DeBurgo seemed to be disquieted ast I hase said that should anna question
arise, somehow his challenge wouldst be placed in jeopardy. Tis one must ponder that a warlord, anna warlord, wouldst hae cause to e'en think such, lest 'e had reason to.

I shall offer nae apology unto Karen Jansen, Master Evermeadow, for to my mind, the woman seems to lack common sense and hast so far proven she canna be trusted in her capacity ast Standings Keeper to hold private missives with respect to challenges privily, but feels free to share the information with those, such as Karen Wilder, who I shall note, ist neither a Baron, the Overlord, or an official of the Duel of Swords at her whim.

In closing, and this is directed to Madame Drakewyn Alabaster Silvertree, in considering thine penchant for making much less than accurate and truthful statements, in particular a statement thee made with regard to having spoken with me about joining the staff of the Duel of Swords, a statement which was patently false, tis plain unto me, Madame, I am hard pressed to believe thee aire being completely accurate in thine comments upon this issue.
Thou, Madame, hae already made other patently false claims in stating that I made anna accusations unto Ms. Jansen. I simply inquired. I should wonder that a simple inquiry wouldst be considered an accusation lest t'was something gnawing at Ms. Jansen's conscience. Though tis should others wish to show honor unto thee who art a liar, tis they may certes do so, I shall nae.

If you found that Karen Jansen was listed as the current standings keeper in writing, how could Eros miss it when he was responsible for sending his notice of challenge to her and Golden?

I think something is incorrect about his claim on that since RDI Gryphn is listed on the official notices (standings) as acting standings keeper or standings keeper since January first of this year. Would not logic dictate to any reading that that Drakewyn or her representative Karen Jansen was filling that position?
