G'nort's reasons for challenging me are completely valid. Even if they weren't, I wouldn't think any different of him. I've said it before, and I'll say it again; I don't care what anyone's reasons for challenging are, if you're a Warlord with 10 PW's then challenge me. I don't even care if someone has absolutely no reason at all to challenge me. They can still do it.
BTW, I'll probably have the date and time posted by tomorrow or Thursday.

Draven,
You asked, "And what then is G'nort's motivation for challenging?"
I think that it had been more than obvious that when Skyler defeated Jeffrey and Gnort announced immediately his intent to challenge.
In addition, Gnort announced in his official challenge "I have spoken with Skyler and he was made aware of the reasons for this, one of which was asking the Overlord what his alignment should be. A prospecting Baron should be prepared in advance to declare [alignment]. Also, having declared himself Renegade to my friend and tutor, Dalamar, the Overlord, is another. Added to my list of reasons, is the fact that I wish to serve under the Overlord as a Loyal Baron."
This was not a "just because," "I wish to test myself," or "I want to be higher ranked" situation.
I find Gnort to be highly motivated, honorable, and earnest. I give him my full support and frankly, there is naught you can do to change that.
Sincerely,
Morgan al'Tan

I have remained silent on this issue, much to the pleasure of many, I am sure. However, I can only find positive things to say, which will come as a welcome surprise.
G'nort has shown good sense, and as much dignity as he is capable of, in dealing with this matter, and should be commended. His reasons for challenge are at least meant from his heart, and not without honor; and whether or not he truly be worthy to hold the title based solely on his skill, to my eyes he is worthy to based on his integrity, should he succeed.
As for you, Skyler... know that you have earned this old Warlord's respect. Your comments regarding this matter have been forthright, candid, and above all, respectful not only to your opponent, but to the rings, and - most importantly - to yourself.
It is rare that I can say this on the occasion of an impending challenge, as my moods and personal loyalties generally sway we strongly to one side or another, but in this case it is quite easy. I wish you both the absolute best of luck, and deeply look forward to your honorable test of one another's skill. In my eyes, regardless of the victor, the sport will secure a victory upon that eve.
Sincerest regards to you both,
Iain MacKenzie

>> Arlingond may currently have a peer percentage of seventyfive percent, but he's only dueled four peer duels this cycle... << ~ Drake ~
M'lady,
It has taken me some time to prove a point on this one as it was not until this eve that I could go to the arena and dedicate a night to the duels. You spoke of my 3-1 record, and how if I dueled more that my percentage would not be 75%. Well m'lady, words spoken unjust are easy to prove, so tonight I dueled as many as I could, ten in all after the final count.
I managed to go 9-1 this evening Drake, to go along with my 3-1, guess thats 12-2, and yes, your right, it's not 75%. I also managed to meet both the Baron and Warlord who we speak about in this string. So, the next time you start to talk, make sure you can back up your words, for tonight that is what I have done.
I want to say that after dueling both these men, Gnort and Skyler, I found them both to be honorable in the ring, as well as out, which I have never doubted. Both are skilled and fine duelers. But, I will still insist that there needs to be a better standard to judge who should be allowed to challenge Barons or the Overlord.
As I have told Gnort, it just happened that this one was the one that broke the camel's back for me, so to speak. Skill and honor to both you men in your upcoming challenge match.
Sincerely,
Arlingond

Then I am curious as to what my standard is that I am judged unworthy to be a holder of the title of Baron. Skill in the ring is one thing, But if I am honorable inside the ring and out, and since you have said at some point that you were sure my character was good, then what is wrong with my being a Baron?
