The pantherine gaze glistened in the quick spark of lightning as black sinews stretched and recoiled, moving him as silent as the wind across the softened grass. The pouring rain beat down on the damp soil and dead leaves, creating a cascade of music with the differing heights of the dropped upon.

The target was within sight as the heavy paws opted nearer, lower himself even further. Ears flick back a moment to ensure of his own safety as he watches, sharp teeth bared to the wind as the scent was caught again. His sight was more acute than most of his breed, having the benefit of immaculate genes.

The leathery hide of the intended victim was twitching as the raindrops that managed to weave through the overbrush of intertwined branches dropped upon it. The panther meanwhile had forgotten all of the rain, nearing with the utmost care. The hunt was on, the rewards, delicious.

Wide eyes suddenly erupt from the chrysalis of darkness to peer towards the panther, but even as the long flowing neck spun the head towards danger, it was all over with.

With relative ease, the carcass was drawn back through the woods headed for the cabin previously noticed. There he would devour his food in safety and it wasn't a long trip. Within the sanctuary of the porch railings, teeth begins to slash through thick hide, tearing for the moist and tender depths of muscles beneath.

The multifarious gaze was caught by a distinct flashing of silver through the woods, a low growl rumbling deep within his stomach. Rising to his haunches, he stalks backwards to the shelter of the deepening shadows. Waiting.

She neared the door to the cabin, fiddling with something in her hands, and it was when she noticed the freshly deceased left haphazardly on her doorstep that he struck.. without warning.

Heavy paws slashed out, claws making contact before the jump over the porch banisters. He heard the thump of the body hitting wood, but didn't look back to the feminine form. Off into the woods, just as gracefully and quickly as he'd struck.
