CHARACTER ASSASSINATION IN THE DOS? by Sylyim Fondor

A sample reading of the missives taped, tacked, nailed, and so on to the boards seems to reveal a thinly veiled attempt to distort and defame the Baroness Wilder. Accusations, innuendo, sarcasm, are routinely laid on her head as if she was a commoner to be run out of town.

The issue seems to be that some think she does not fight enough. Oddly, when she defends her title she seems to win, but perhaps that is in the eyes of some not relevant.

We seem to recall that Jeff Oakenshield was very lax in defending his title and in the end had it taken away from him. We think that some would like to see that happen to the Baroness. In any case, the RhyDin Times-Reporter is squarely on the side of the Baroness in this matter and do encourage those intent on besmirching her name desist and refrain. Sometimes we think that too many in the DoS have too little to do with their time and spend it
attacking one another for amusement. For shame on you.

WARLORDS TOURNAMENT ON THE HORIZON by Eli Grady

The Warlords Tournament will soon be upon us and all Warlords are encouraged to participate. The following is a public service message of the RhyDin Times-Reporter

“That's right boys and girls, it's nearing the end of the cycle so it's time for one of them Warlord Tournament deals. This cycle's tournament will start promptly at 9 pm (edt) on Sunday, June the 3rd. The later rounds will more than likely carry over to 4th, where we'll start at the same time. Duelers will have until 10 after nine to get their butts into the Arena.

Standings as of May 31st will be used to determine eligible Warlords, and Warlord Rankings as of the same date will be used for seeding and initial pairings.

All registrations should be sent to (( HOST PCG Chris )), who will be accepting them up until 11:59 pm on Saturday the 2nd.

As usual, it'll be a double elimination deal. Good luck to everyone entering!” ((The above copied verbatim from the official announcement posted by HOST PCG CHRIS))

The winner gets a shot at Cletus Gandrfald the current Overlord of the DoS subject to the rules and regulations governing this sport.

Smart money appears to be on Seamus if he choses to participate. I would not count out Ariadne Angeles, Stralen, or Daryl Kyle. In a tournament such as this a dark horse with a hot hand may carry the day. Elijah may be the one.
DUEL OF MAGIC UPHEAVALS by Eli Grady

A unusual manifestation, reported in an earlier edition of the RhyDin Times-Reporter that had been previously denied by the officials of the DoM seems to have arrived. A entity called The Pale Soverign is wreaking havoc merely by his/its existence and presence on the Island. I was there during one of his manifestations and it was truly amazing to see all the mages, wizards, etc. in such a dither over another magically endowed being. The being
merely behaved as an other rude over-bearing member of the magical community. Indeed, in some instances the being was nearly polite. It was unusual to note that when attacked the being appeared to absorb without a trace any offensive weapons turned on it. I have not heard of that before.

In any cases, the officials of the DoM have a handful on their hands and it can only be hoped they are equal to the task.

THE SOCIAL GRACES By Evan Fondor

We had an opportunity to see Charlie in her off-the-rack clothing. Dearie, you really need to have someone teach you how to dress. A woman in a man’s clothing means to much stretching at the seams. Surely you can afford more fitting attire. Perhaps the Lady Noelle can give you some pointers on dressing well.

We have observed the queen of the island making merry with a minstrel of late. What ever is the world coming to? Will Jugula now be entering society? One shudders at such a thought.
