FireStar Tournament Results!

Last weekend I had the privilege of witnessing the tournament to give FireStar a new holder when it's returned. There were eight strong competitors in the field. They were (in no particular order): Kheldar, Xerzes, Neraster, Maetel, Anubis, Chris, Iris and Stick.

The first round saw Kheld defeating Neraster, Xerzes taking Maetel down, Chris knocking Anubis to the loser's bracket, and Stick joining the lower half.

Kheld and Xerzes faced off in the second round, as did Chris and Iris. Kheld was quick to win, but Iris was not. However, in the end, Xerzes and Chris were sent to the loser's bracket. In that lower half, Neraster first knocked Maetel out to send her to the showers, then Stick sent Anubis packing with a dominating win!

The third round saw Kheld and Iris in the winner's bracket finals, and after 10 rounds, Kheld proved himself the one to beat. Meanwhile, Neraster met Xerzes in the ring and sent him packing. A grudge match in the Pit between Stick and Chris showed quickly who was on top, and Stick was knocked down and out of the tournament.

In the fourth round, Kheldar got a good bit of rest while Neraster and Chris stepped in the ring. Iris got the bye as highest seed in the bottom bracket and being the last person to drop a duel. After eight rounds, Neraster took the win and sent Chris to clean up and pick up some food.

The fifth round gave Kheldar more rest as Neraster and Iris duked it out to see who would face him in the finals for rights to the Opal. It took 10 rounds, but Neraster took the win and knocked out the last female of the tournament.

After a few minutes' break, Kheld and Neraster were sent into a ring of fire, left arms tied by a rope to bind them together. Kheldar, as winner's bracket final, would have to be defeated twice for the Opal to go to Neraster. Neraster took the first match, making sure no one in the tournament would go without a loss. Then, without a break, Neraster took the last match in dominating fashion to secure his rights to FireStar!

Congratulations, Neraster!
