Anubis Karos versus Tareth Thorn
Fight for possession of the Green Opal, Path Finder

OUTBACK-- Regular Monday night fights were turned into a spectacle of challenge as Anubis attempted to wrest the Green Opal from Tareth's hands.

Wait, We're Not Ready
The first brawl didn't even make it into a ring as Anubis attacked Tareth on the main Outback floor and was immediately beaten back with a jab-counter-counter combination that tore up both Anubis and the surrounding bar area.

The challenger wouldn't lay a hand on Thorn until the fourth round, when he would finally land a jab over the defender's mid-level kick.  However, momentum wasn't going to swing his way as Thorn immediately dropped down to sweep him off his feet as Karos attempted a ridgehand combination.

The challenger would score another point in the following round, again landing a jab over the defender's leg work, but it would be leg work that would finish the match for Thorn as he followed up his block attempt with a quick sweep to the legs.  The defender would take the first match, outside of the ring, 5-2 in 7 rounds.

Okay, Now We're Ready
There could be practically no distinction between when the first match began and where the second started as the combatants refused to even pause in their pummelling of each other outside the rings.

Although it would take three rounds before the scoring would begin in the second match, Thorn was once again the one scoring the points as he leapt and countered over the challenger's sweep attempt.  The next round would be more of the same as Thorn once again countered, this time ducking inside of a grapple attempt by Karos to land a solid shot.

Karos would immediately cut the lead in half, however as he dodged and countered away from Thorn's ill-advised uppercut - but once again Karos would be unable to gain momentum as he would immediately fall into Thorn's clutches in the following round, setting himself up as a sitting target as Thorn picked him up and sent him crashing through what must have been one of the few remaining tables.

But again Karos would score, cutting the lead to one as he body tossed Thorn, and he would uncharacteristically follow that with another point to, countering another jab from Thorn to tie the score at 3 after 9 rounds - it would remain that way for another two rounds before the defender would once again take the lead.  A quick jab down on the sweeping Karos would give Thorn all the momentum he needed to retain his Opal in the round 13 with a quick counter-strike outside of Karos's return jab.

For now, at least, the Path Finder Opal would remain with its current holder.

Match notes: Tareth Thorn def. Anubis Karos 2-0 [5-2, 5-3]
