Tonight, this June 3, I was mediator to the grand duel that follows:

Baron Jefferey Oakenshield vs. K'yorl Jarlaxel(PainIsland)

Jeff--FCP--Pain--HC
Round One: Hundreds fight in the arena, very few make it far enough to test their skill against the best.
The Baron opens with a brilliant defense, the fancy circ parry breezes just under K'yorl's highcutting strike.
1-0 K'yorl

Jeff--TH--Pain--LC
Round Two: The Baron and the Warlord stalk each other studiously, Jeff's axe long since cooled from the parry, the weapon urging him to strike...
...K'yorl too, eager for the next poing, brings his blade down in offense once again.
The two push forward, but the Baron's thrust is quicker.
1 all

Jeff--SH--Pain--TH
Round Three: One of the chancy moves, but the Baron illustrates the perfectly timed
defensive stophit, the maneuver catches, halts, and turns K'yorl's thrusting blade back upon himself.
2-1 Jeff

Jeff--TH--Pain--LC
Round Four: Playing the odds, or perhaps momentum, the Warlord makes a
break-for...and cuts low. The Baron's axe, weilded by a deft and expert hand plunges
right over again to thrust. .
3-1 Jeff

Jeff--FLP--Pain--FDK
Round Five: Again the warriors circle, caution, intent, cunning...
The Baron tosses the axe up into Fancy lateral parry..
..but this time K'yorl spots the movement in time to Fancy duck down for a pointed
advantage.
3-2 Jeff.

Jeff--FSS--Pain--TH
Round Six: There is inherent, a certain instinct that comes with mastery of the blade...
...to know, to follow the faintest twinge in your opponent's arm, the look in their eye that
says... thrust. The Baron's Fancy sidestep secures him the lead while the Warlord sails past.
4-2 Jeff.

Jeff--LC--Pain--FDK
Round Seven: It is late in the duel... the stakes are now score, or lose.
K'yorl spies the Dwarf's axe in action again, a cut perhaps... instinctively he FDucks.
But the Baron's range is low and catches the challenger full force for the winning point.
5-2 Jeff

J Oaknshld def. PainIsland, 5-2 in 7 rounds.

The Baron Oakenshield thus retains Ring 8.
