He smiled as he took a look at his design. From his position on the second floor, he could see the entire ring; well, it wasn't a ring, exactly. He had already designed the pit, and he knew how much everyone loved fighting it in, especially Janella. She appreciated it the most. Sort of.
But he had wanted something more, and had come up with the idea for a new ring…the younger sister of the pit, so to speak. Instead of digging, however, he looked skyward, and his new ring reflected that. The supporting beams rose approximately fifteen feet into the air. They were spaced about thirty feet apart lengthwise and five feet apart for the width. Rungs were places between the beams so that the duelers could climb up to the fighting
area itself. Once they reached the top, they found bars, two feet of air separating each, covering the thirty-foot span. Each bar was square, and about three-quarters of a foot wide; this wasn't a whole lot of room, but it was enough so that someone could maintain their balance. The question was how well could they maintain their balance in a fight. Dueling on this thing wouldn't be the easiest of tasks, that he knew. But it had proven itself
safe and could support quite a lot of weight. Padded mats covered the ground underneath extending beyond the ring a bit, so that when a dueler fell, they wouldn't be injured. He planned on unveiling the ring tonight; he wanted to see the duelers put it through its paces.
Ring Styx was just a few hours away from being tried in real combat. He grinned because he knew this was going to prove very interesting. Very interesting indeed.
