Cassius smirked as he finished off Gnort for the first time in his life. Everyone in the arena was excited that Cassius actually defeated Gnort. Most knew that Cassius was around 0-10 against him. Now he had triumphed. He chuckled to himself as Gnort knelt, holding his head and talking of armagedgeon and Cassius defeating him, the previous must follow the later. In a split second decision Cassius walked up to the
kneeling Dragoon, placed his hand on his shoulder and put something in his hand. Cass then walked out of the arena. Gnort, almost in tears of amazment, looked into the palm of his hand to find Cassius's ring.
Walking briskly through the warm night air, Cassius was content with the way he had retired his ring. Soon he would be going back home to complete training as a priest. There would be no time for him to come back and defend his ring, so he left it in the hands of the onehe could *never* defeat. In defeating Gnort he was definately leaving on a great note.
Two days later, Cassius walked in to the arena and began to write a post:
"Friends and fello duelers, Barons, RDI's and Lord Dal:
In a week I leave to complete my training as a priest. I will be away for too long of a time to defend my ring. So I hereby retire as the Thirteenth Loyal Baron of Duel of Swords. I also retire my active role in DoS. I'll be back, some time. I dont know when. Heck, when I complete my training, I might not be able to come back to Rhydian. So I say this: Thank you all for the great time, for the challenges, and for the friendship. ::Cassius
stalls for a minute waiting for something profound to say, but then simply puts::
In Christ,
Sir Leo Caius Cassius Pride
Moving On (13th ring)

After taking the Ring from Cassius, G'nort understood that their conversation before the match wasn't really in jest. After he left, Gnort exited the ring and took his seat beside Jona. After a brief converstion with her about Cassius and the retirement of the ring, he told Jona that this was the second time he was given the title by someone who was giving it up. The first being Baron Errol
Faline.
As he did the last time, Gnort knew he would have to hand the ring over to Helix once again. and hope that someone of true Honor, like his friend Cassius, would take hold of the 13th Ring, or Gnort would find a way to make sure it would.
He then leaves a note for teh Baron.
Sir Cassius,
My old Friend, To see you leave on a personal high note is a good thing, just a shame it came at my expense. :) Now, hopefully you will once again grace the rings with your presence, as I will hope to gain a rematch against you to clear my good name.
Safe travels, and may the wind be in your sails.

"May your path always be light dear Cassius..." the soft voice trails off as Cyggy walks from the board, not leaving a written message for her friend.

Bane moves up to the cork board, thumbing through some posts. One post catches his eye and he reads it in full. A smile comes to his lips as he finishes reading the post. He pulls out a pen and writes a short note...
Sir Leo Caius Cassius Pride,
I wish you well in your training for priesthood. We have not met formally, but I have seen you around and I see you as quite an honorable man. I hope that you return to Rhydin some day soon. Once again, good luck in future endeavors.
