:: the old Scot walks to the cork after a few days of considering the upcoming match .
Having pondered his options and knowing his heart, he tacks a note to the Overlord::

Laird Dalamar Ar D'aumon,
Havin thought about the offer ye ha'e made of the Best of Three format for our upcoming match, I have an offer of my own.
As ye are probably aware,I ha'e always been a sportin man. Be it the wagers on the challenges or a duel for a kiss ,wi' the lasses o' course, I do enjoy the wagers.
So if I may, I would like to offer ye a bit o' a sportin wager.
I will accept yer best o' three tha' all seem to feel is the * right* thing tae do but I would like tae add a twist tae the mix before I comit m'self.
Should ye win, I will nae offer ye challenge so long as ye wear the crown. I will nae swear loyalty, nor will I refrain from speakin out if ye dinna serve the interests o' the community should I lose mind ye, but ye will nae ha'e tae concern yerself wi' my blade.
Now tae yer part o' the wager. Should I best ye in the challenge, ye will retire the First ring to the Warlords tournament and furthermore ye will nae offer challenge tae me as long as I wear the crown. Ye would hae to stand in line annaway but tha' is another matter.
So wha' say ye Dalamar, are ye up for it man?
I will await yer reply.

Seamus

Now that sounds like a deal! Seamus, if there is anyone who can rid that man of his last days of embarrassment, it's you. Take 'em out!

Baron MacDonnaugh,

Simply, I accept your offer. On Wednesday, we shall meet in the ring for a Best of Three match. Should I defeat you, you will never again issue challenge for the title of Overlord so long as it is held by me. If you emerge victorious, I shall retire from the ranks of Baron and never offer you challenge for the title of Overlord.

sincerely,
Lord Dalamar Ar'Daumon

I'm not quite sure why one would accept this extra detail, unless Seamus agreed to retire his ring if he lost (Not my original idea - overheard it somewhere).

Overall though, this could be a step in the right direction for DoS. I think that this condition (w/ or w/o the part about the losing baron retiring) should be added to the permanent rulebook of DoS challenges.

In conclusion, luck and skill to both duelers.

First challenge match ever, where I'm choosing not to wager. I will be there as soon as time permits however.

My recent absence has made me ignorant of what may have transpired to pit two men, who I've known to be good friends, both to each other and to me, not to mention team mates.

My best to you both. Whatever it was that could bring friends to this: I hope you both show the honor and skill that we all know you both are capable of, lest you both find yourselves losing on this one.
