Things finally got to him...

His mother's medallion...

The stress of his first challenge...

The news from his homeland...

Caring for his sick friend...

It may have been that last one that caused everthing to go to hell. For days before he and Magnus were taking care of their ill friend from Polaris. It was a strange disease...one the two had never seen before. It all began with a sudden spot of weariness, followed by non-comprehension of anything, along with a deep fever. It was downhill from there. Luckily, Cletus and Magnus, along with herbs mixed up by a strage man they had come along many
years ago, managed to save their friend, Ant's, life. But, it would seem, not without a price.

Cletus was fine as he went about his daily routines, and even as he came to duel that night. After his first one he was on top of the world, but then came the second. It all just cracked then. A mere touch on his shin knocked him over. He somehow managed to wobble and very wearily make his way through the duel. After that, he didn't understand a word anyone said to him. He just nodded out of politness. Nonetheless, Arane still managed to get
him back to her house and put him to bed.

After talking to him and trying to get a reply, she finally gets Terra to come and "inspect" him. Terra recognizes the problem and swiftly sends for Magnus.

That next morning, when Cletus awoke, Magnus was sitting beside his bed. When he saw Cletus' eyes open, he smirked a little bit.

"Rough nigh'?"

Cletus just lied there until finally he said, "What happened?"

Magnus then told him what had happened, to the best of his knowledge. What happened at the arena, how Terra had come and fetched him in the early morning hourse, and how he administered the first treatment of herbs to Cletus.

"Its not as bad as Ant's." He went on to say. "We caught it quick enough so it will nae get out of hand. Yer gonna be fine, but I'm keepin you in bed for at least 2 more days. Jus' to be on the safe side."

Little did Magnus know, but the disease had infected Cletus, and would not go away that easily. It would only be a matter of time before this happened again.
