Jhared lay wrapped in his charcoal grey duster. His chest rose and fell with the evenness of sleep. The leafy canopy above him whispered with the light breeze of the early morning. His eyes opened. He blinked back the sleep and yawned. He rose to his knees, His back twitching with spasms from the previous nights activities. He placed his hands on his lower back stretching backward til his hair touched the ground. He stood andlooked about his surroundings. He smiled at his situation. Sleeping in trees, just outside a town from some swashbuckling book about knights and dragons. Talk about back to nature. Tenderly he stroked his long fingers along his jawline. Swelling, no doubt about it. He winced over a particularly tender spot. His mind wheeled slightly at the thought of that small woman beating him so badly. No doubt that she was capable, but he thought he would have at least did some damage himself. Not only quick and strong. But distractingly beautiful as well. Suprisingly she didn't use that once to her advantage, or, hethought, at least didn't use it consciously. He gathered his coat around him to keep the crisp morning air out. His worn combat boots made a steady sound as he began walking back to the spaceport. First to find some work he thought, then maybe another night of sparring. And who knows, maybe she'll be there again. He began to whistle, things looking up once again.

Jhared closed the door to his room. He turned slowly leaning his weight back against it. Another night of fighting had taken it's toal. Bruises and swelling were already spreading over his body. Soft footfalls accompanied him as he made his way across the room toward the shower.

Five wins in one night. He grinned in spite of himself. Seemed things were looking up. First Shannon gets him this room in the Outback. Then five wins to boot. He thought about her. Remembering her moves, her prowess, her looks. He shook himself and stepped into the shower turning it cooler than he was used too. She'd probably take his head off for even thinking this way. He chuckled.

The water sluiced over his body. He leaned against the wall and thought about the next day. At this rate maybe the contacts Shannon had given him would pan out into a job. He grinned, never can tell.
