Baron's Council,
First, I know Drake has removed me from the Standings though originally she was going to keep me on it. I am asking for special consideration to have my title/rank of Baron restored and to brought back into the ranks of duelers. Golden turned this matter over to you to settle and no statement has been released from you as of yet on the issue, so I am asking to submit a petition in my favor. After thinking about this incident, I have realized I
did make a mistake, not in my challenge, but in how I handled this situation. Simply, I am sorry, because I was afraid everything I have done and tried to work for had been ruined. I feel I should remain Baron and a dueler in DoS.
I was afraid my title would be stripped from me simply because there are individuals on this council, namely Jeff and Lupton, for example who would love to see me stripped of the title regardless of the circumstances. I find fault in RDI Golden's findings, simply because I know I saw the proper standings to validate my peer wins. The issue would have never came up if some spineless manipulative and vindictive wench who sits at the bar and doesn't
participate as a dueler in this sport, a.k.a Jonalyn, didn't have it in for me and looks for every opportunity to ruin my involvement here. She has involved herself in which she has no voice in active dueler matters if she is not willing to walk the path we have all taken to become title holding leaders of this sport.
Politics should not rule the rings, only the blade.
I have never defended a ring I have earned and it has been a sore point for me a long while. I stated that I would stand by this ring and guard it till forcibly taken from me. In a rather emotional moment where I felt I would find no quarter in these hallowed halls, I panicked because the past of what I had to deal with here still haunts me. However, my beliefs are simple, that the blade of the duel should determine the course of history in
these rings, and not the schemes of those who don't even participate in it as an active dueler.
I challenged Daelin, and I defeated him for the right to wear the Seventh. I don't think I did anything wrong in my challenge still because I stand by what I did and saw. The only way this ring should not be worn on my finger is if I lose a duel for the right of it. I apologize for the chaos and my over reaction, but the acclamation of crap from the years coming back to haunt me by someone who won't give up against me was something that I wasn't
sure I had the energy for. I do love the DoS, and I want to remain here, and I want to remain Baron.
I ask that the Baron's Council sets forth a champion against me for the right to keep the Seventh upon my finger and have it returned to me. If I lose I will return to the ranks of Warlords and simply try to achieve title again that way. If I win I wish to be reinstated as Baron of the Seventh. I apologize not for who I am, but how I have handled myself. I over reacted in a moment of panic because I was not sure I wanted to fight this battle.
I am ready for war, and prepared for battle, because I do live by the blade and am willing to put it where my mouth is.
I ask this special precedent to be made by the Baron's Council, to test those who have become title holders by questionable means. I wouldn't have left the title because of this, but left because I was afraid of the future for my career here. I know who I am and what I believe, and though it appears I made a mistake, I still stand by the fact that I didn't.

Ok, now I'm wondering something here. I'm assuming, and this is my opinion, that you are saying that for someone to have a voice in DoS one has to be a title holding leader. Just what constitues a title holding leader? Warlord? Baron? Unless one is a title holding leader, are you saying that in *your* opinion they have no voice? What about the lower ranks? Are they allowed a voice?

This isn't to slam you E. We have had our differances in the past, but I do not tend to hold a grudge or hold past differences against someone. I am questioning some of the things you have stated to the Baron's Council in your plea. I normally do not get involved in the politics of the DoS, but in this case these statements disturbed me, especially the first. DoS is for all duelists. A place in the Baron's Council is an earned rank and they are
there to represent all DoS duelists. I don't think I care much for the impression many could pick up and think that if you don't hold a titled rank you have no right to any say or opinion. Since Ecore went and posted this, as well as sent this to the council, I will state my feelings here, just as I have to the council.
Basically I will sum it up like this.
I am 100% against re-instating Ecore as a Baron. If this is done, it lays groundwork for any Baron to get fed up, spout off at the mouth, retire, forfeit the ring and then think...realize he/she made a very rash choice and recant.
We can not allow that to happen.
If Ecore wishes to be put back on the standings, that is not something we have a say in.
For Ecore to hold that ring, or any other, however, he should have to earn the Peer Wins, and then challenge again, first making sure that all is in order.

But didn't this same Council vote to let Daelin have the ring back? No offense to Daelin, but I did prove to beat him when this challenge was considered valid. When the prize was on the line he failed and I succeeded. And yet you don't even test him to prove his worth to hold the ring again, but just hand it over as if his loss never happened. I can accept not getting the Seventh back, but I don't think Daelin deserves to still hold the ring,
unless he is tested. Leave it to the tourney if no one is going to have to fight for it but handed back as a gift. I offer even a rematch with Daelin. If this council is going to rule to give back Daelin the Seventh as if the duel didn't happen, then give me back my peer wins since my challenge never happened.
Why your at it why don't you strip Jayc of her ring too and everyone else who ever made an illegal/invalid challenge. I don't mind being the one who's being made the example of, however, if your changing precedent, you better stick to this with every case of illegal/invalid challenge hereafter and enforce it regardless of who the individuals involved are. I will be watching very closely and I am sure alot of others will as well.

There is a difference in Jaycy's situation, the first and foremost being that she didn't go off on a baby rant and GIVE UP her ring. Ecore, you gave the ring up, you left it and retired. The prize was not on the line, technically, since the challenge is ruled invalid. If you want to test his worth, he is, indeed, a worthy baron. He just happened to lose that day. It happens to all of us.

Actually, if you challenge with invalid peer wins, your right to challenge is eliminated for the rest of the cycle, and you lose your peers.

I've said my piece to Jaycy already. Regardless, Helix let Jaycy's challenge press for some odd reason, and she was the coordinator at the time.

I thought you were one who followed rules, Ecore. Now you're complaining about people changing precedence of invalid challenges? Maybe I shouldn't say anything, after all, I'm not on the council. I am, however, experienced enough in witnessing these cases to have a valid opinion of it. Think what you will of me, I certainly won't lose sleep over it.
I will, however, lose sleep if these acts are condoned once again.

I've accepted the fact that I will not be given another chance of being the Seventh, at least this cycle. The Council had already voted before I asked about this issue, nice of them to let the public know what is going on. I am for the rules, however, the rules have been violated for so long and ignored that finally when I do it the Council decides now is the time to set new precdent and stand
up and say enough. Fine, I don't mind being the example if this is going to be the way it is handled everytime hereafter. I am not complaining, if anything I am warning, that this action has been noted and will be watched by many.

A few statements...
First about precidence, why Elijah and not Jaycy? Coordinator Helix Girvin did not give da Baronial council power ta decide on da matter, she made da decision, period. Goldendust Evermeadow turned da matter over ta his council. He did not dictate how we must rule, he simply asked for a fair decision.
Next, it is an impossiblity fer Elijah ta be reinstated. His challenge has already been ruled invalid, and by retiring, his peer wins have been stripped; reset ta zero. Goldendust has been informed of da baronial council's decisions regarding da situation and he will make a statement as ta what result it will have fer our sport.
Lastly, it was da council's findings dat Elijah's match with Daelin was nothing more dan a practice duel, because it was an invalid challenge. He may have lost, but its no different dan if he lost a match during normal dueling hours to Elijah. Daelin WILL have ta defend his ring with blade, when his next challenger comes forward. Until such a time he is free ta wear his ring without qualification by defense.

So the ruling has been made, that my challenge was invalid and I am stripped of my peer wins without ability to challenge again this cycle for Baron. That is fine, I accept the ruling, and will endevor to reprove my worth to hold title.

So the ruling has been made, that my challenge was invalid and I am stripped of my peer wins without ability to challenge again this cycle for Baron. That is fine, I accept the ruling, and will endevor to reprove my worth to hold title.

In perusing the former Barons' petition, I should wish to remind the Council of the many previous incidents wherein a Baron has retired by his or her own choice. Sir Leo Caius Cassius Pride comes ta me mind ast well ast others. The gentleman pondered, but only pondered requesting the return of the Thirteenth Ring. Nay didst he request special dispensation or the return of his title and ring.
Prior to the establishment 'o the Baron's Council the Baroness, the Lady Midnight Blue, she of the lovely garden didst retire the Eighth ring. Coincidentally she wast facing a challenge from the self same Ecore for she had defeated him for the Eighth Ring. At that time, the Overlord, Siera of Redwin stood ready to defend her loyal Baroness save that the Baroness' act of retirement precluded the Overlord from standing for her loyal Baroness.
The Eighth Ring wast given over unto the officials to be won in the following Warlord Tourney and wast earned and worn by Ian Ryan MacKenzie.
As a warlord the Lady Blue had endured insult upon insult as had the then Overlord Siera of Redwin from this self same Ecore up to and including the very night of the challenge wherein the Lady Blue didst wrest the Eighth Ring from Elijah. Upon that verra eve, Elijah didst attempt to claim the Eighth Ring by forfeiture, without lifting blade, in that he didst attempt to claim unto the official that the Lady Blue had failed to appear for the
match. In point of fact the Lady Blue wast on time and Elijah had misrepresented the time set unto the official ast well ast unto those present that eve including the Lord of Questrion. The timely appearance of the Lady Blue silenced the attempt and the Lady Blue didst defeat the warlord Elijah and didst in honor hold the Eighth Ring.
Master Golden Evermeadow didst place the matter afore the Council. Ecore took the matter out of the hands of the Council by his own acts. Ist the former Baron, Ecore, now calling into question Master Evermeadow integrity and honesty in determining that the retired Baron Ecore's challenge unto Daelin Dragonsblade wast indeed improper? Ist the former Baron Ecore now denying he didst retire and be he expecting the Standings Keeper Madame
Silvertree to deny his own request that he be listed as retired? Be he wishing that Madame Silvertree be placed in the circumstance of seeming to interfer in the business of the Council? Be this a case of the "Devil made me do it"? Fie, the whimperings of a cur.
He dost offer insult unto the senior Baron, Jeffrey Oakenshield, a Baron whose honor and integrity hast been proven repeatedly. He hast offered insult unto the Baron Lupton, a person, though one whom I am nae admittedly overly fond 'o for manna reasons, what hae given nae cause ast yet to doubt his integrity in this matter. The Baron Lupton ist certes capable as be Jeffrey of speaking fer himself. Ecore dost offer insult unto the entire Council
and unto myself. I hae heard the insults manna a long year and find them uninspired and oft little more than amusing. I lift blade ast I choose and shall nae be baited. Yet to offer insult unto the Baron Jeffrey Oakenshield ist nae something I shall neither forgive nor shall I forget.
Ask of the retired Ecore why he hast failed to defend a ring he hast earned. Elijah didst hold the Fifth Ring didst offer challenge unto the then Overlord Athlsan and in defeat didst forfeit the Fifth Ring.
He hast admitted his fears and dost hold that only the blade be what shouldst rule. Yet his fears wouldst seem to rule him in that he scurried away ast a whipped cur rather than stand and face the Council's adjudication of the matter. He dost make claim that politics shouldst nae rule these ancient rings but only steel shouldst rule. Yet he wouldst the Baron's Council rule upon his petition having already removed the matter from their
jurisdiction? What law wouldst he hae ta set afore the community? That of chaos? He hast lived by the blade and died by the blade. He hast cast aspersions upon the honor and integrity of many over the years, nae the least of which wast those aspersions he didst so boldly cast upon Siera of Redwin.
I am reminded that the Overlord Dalamar Ar'Daumon didst stand and face his Baron's with nae whimpering, nae whining, nae slinking away, e'en in the face of one of his Loyal Baron's, Seamus MacDonnaugh's request unto him that he retire having been made unto the then Overlord preceding that meeting of the Council.
The retired Baron dost state that the only way the ring should not be worn upon his finger ist by dint of blade, yet he himself cast both title and ring aside in a fit of pique. Tis he then comes unto the Council and the community and doest offer petition and request for special dispensation for reinstatement of title and ring, a title and ring he cared nae to hold in the face of adversity.
Tis been mine honor and privilege to know manna of the community. Tis been mine honor and privilege to greet manna a previously retired warlord. Among them some chose to request reinstatement of their rank, others among them chose to seek their rank again after long absence. Tis a privilege granted unto the ranks of warlords.
