Let it be known that on the thirteenth evening of this moon, I did officiate a Challenge duel between the Warlord Drey D'erest Sanchez Starke and the Thirteenth Baroness of the Duel of Swords, Taylara Tyree. This was the Baroness' first attempt at a defense of her title.

The Warlord fought in ebony and crimson, with the Warlord Cassius Maximius by his side as Second, and the Lady Grace St. James in absentia.

The Baroness fought for the memory and honor of her friend the late Dexter Montoya, former Overlord of the Duel of Swords. Weilding an elven longsword called Melan, she stood with Seamus MacDonnaugh, Warlord and former Baron of the Fourth and First Baronial Rings as Second.

The match progressed as follows:

Round One
Not ready to do anything but eye each other yet, both Taylara and Drey begin with simple, wary sidesteps.
Score: Warlord Starke 0, Baroness Tyree 0

Round Two
Drey's long silver blade makes contact with a low cut before Tay's lateral parry reaches its midway point.
Score: Warlord Starke 1, Baroness Tyree 0

Round Three
A twist of the gold-spiralled hilt reverses Ravenous around to a high cut... catching Taylara in some fancy footwork. (fss/hc)
Score: Warlord Starke 2, Baroness Tyree 0

Round Four
Taylara whips around hoping to catch Drey in bold move, but finds only a low cut on its way. (sh/lc)
Score: Warlord Starke 3, Baroness Tyree 0

Round Five
After a pause to regroup, both duelists face off once again. This time, Drey's point is earned by quick thinking and low ducking, completely avoiding the Baroness' lateral parry. (fdk/flp)
Score: Warlord Starke 4, Baroness Tyree 0

Round Six
The Baroness comes on strong with her first offensive cut. The elven blade sweeps low... but falls short as Ravenous meets its mark. (lc/th)
Score: Warlord Starke 5, Baroness Tyree 0

And so it was that Drey D'erest Sanchez Starke did take possession of the title of Thirteenth Baron of the Duel of Swords, and declared it Renegade to the Overlord Shiv Blade.

Dutifully Submitted,
