Ladies and Gentlemen!

On Monday, April 24th, I was given the honor to witness the challenge issued by K'yorl Jarlaxel for the Ninth Ring against the Council's chosen champion, Galin Taelca. To this day (upon being informed), nobody had beaten the Council's chosen champion. This match was no exception, as the match lasted twelve rounds! This match was close throughout, as neither duelist had more than a one point lead.

K'yorl Jarlaxel dueled with his cutlass. No further information was provided.

Galin Taelca used his short sword "Disruptor" to duel for the honor of his House Oor~Tael. Baron Cletus Ganderfald stood as Galin's second, and Galin dueled under the colors of turquoise and silver.

The match began with traded cuts, securing both of them a point in the beginning. Galin then took the lead the next round by crouching under K'yorl's reversed cut. Three rounds of similar moves followed, which included low and high cuts, then steps set to counter. Another round of defense occurred where neither scored.

In the seventh round, however, things picked up. Both Galin and K'yorl traded lunges to give them both a point. K'yorl then risked the 50/50 chance and tied up the score when he deflected Galin's cut. He then took the lead when he found a niche in Galin's returned defense, giving him the 4-3 lead after 9 rounds.

Galin turned things around, however, when he evaded K'yorl's thrust to tie the score. Traded cuts low followed, before Galin evaded the reversed cut of K'yorl again to take the winning point!

The council has, once again, chosen a champion to prevent a duelist from obtaining the ring. I congratulate Galin and K'yorl on a well fought match.

::Into the early morn, she combs through the tattered postings...frantic in her search. Her hands trembling in fear of finding it, for her marriage may hang in the balance. Driven to know the truth, yet emotionally unable to cope, her voice racked with pain:: Please God let me be wrong.
