Upon receiving the missive from Drakewyn reality took on a whole new meaning. Her decision to participate in the Warlord Tourney was a last minute thing. She enjoyed the opportunity of dueling her peers and testing her skills. But this tourney was different; she took home a prize even though she only finished in fourth place.
It's funny they call it a prize, it's more like a weighty decision resting on your soul. She knew that if Avery was still Overlord she wouldn't have to think twice, she'd not challenge him. But it's not Avery, a decision would have to be made.
The events surrounding this Warlord Tourney were more then a little unusual. A community up in arms, a challenge to the Overlord, an Overlord missing and a Baron's Council struggling for the right to resolve the matter. So, they had a Baron's Tourney to determine who would be the 39th Overlord of the Duel of Swords. An Overlord that would be subjected to an immediate challenge by a winner in the Warlord's Tourney. "Aren't I the luck one?", with
a shake of her head.
If she challenges, there will be those that will wish her luck and there will be those that ask why? If she doesn't challenge, there will be those that congratulate her for making a wise choice, but there will still be those that ask why. This isn't a choice she asked to make, it's a prize.
