((author's note: My apologies in not posting this sooner, it seems to have been one of the few things on my mind to have slipped through the cracks))

So, the word had finally been sent. A lost hope born out of betrayal by one man. And now at a moment of avenging a wrong, she was committing one herself. Was it possible to hate oneself more than she did at the moment? She didnt think so.

So long ago it seemed, but then again, time had lost all meaning for her, stolen from her soul like the life of the prey before the dragon. Rended by one so heartless and now here she was in the position to cause harm to one she loved to avenge the wrong that had been done, the life of one she cherished above all...Tifanilea, her daughter..never once had she spoken that name in the time that had come after the betrayal. Never once had she uttered the
name in dreams or awake of the human she had forsaken her kindred to love, only to be set upon by one whose dreams so ghastly took everything away from her in one fell swoop. Now it was final. Her time of rending was to begin.

Ah Tass she sighed to herself. Her heart physically ached when she thought of what this may do to his kender soul. To have lost not one but two wives would surely take his spirit. The agony over her decision had increased the silver streams in her auburn hair giving her an almost ghostly appearance as it framed her pale face. She knew she was going to break his heart, and the thought brought a fresh well of tears to her eyes. How she hated herself,
but she had told him all of what had come before and he had still loved her, knowing what could pass. Now she couldnt bring herself to tell him she must go. It may be possible to return but she knew what she would have to give as sacrifice to obtain her goal, even if she wanted to return after the deed was done. Such was the weight on the small elf's shoulders. A small flicker of hope sparked in her gold flecked hazel eyes. She could be done with it
and back before he returned. The light filtered out as she realized once more, he may not wish to see what could become of her.

Pacing the den she had called sanctuary for the many years she had been here in Rhydin, she traced her fingers along the relics that adorned the room. All she would leave behind. A glance once more at the packs readied that morning standing by the railing of the outcropping of stone she had used as a balcony. She turned once more and blew out the last candle by the door and gently closed it behind her. She couldnt bear to leave more than the hasty
note, her tears making it hard to read she knew, but he would understand its message. Maybe he could still love her.

Brushing the tears from her cheeks with a gloved hand, she walked to the edge of the balcony and whistled softly in the wind. Too soon she heard the rustle of the leathery wings of Phaligisto. As the small green dragon alighted on the edge of the balcony, he dropped his head close to hers, the multi-faceted eyes whirling with the turmoil she felt. Her distress was his, so was the way and he knew this was her time, just as he knew it was to pass.
Shuffling his wings slightly, she hooked the two packs to either side of his back by the strappings that she had made special for this trip. Without looking back, she climbed atop the dragon's back behind the packs, hooking her feet in the flying straps and with a gentle nudge of a thought, the dragon walked to the edge, spreading his wings and without so much as a jostle, took him and his rider aloft. Guided by her mental images, he slowly winged
his way on a southwards direction. The feeling of despair clung to them as they embarked on what they knew was a flight of hope, betrayal, and death. The time to fulfill the pact was at hand.

((author's note: as you can probably tell, this is a story line. I did not think it fair to leave my IC husband Tass hanging with a sudden absentee wife, even though he rarely ever rp'ed with me anymore...loves ya, mean it ;))
