Did yer ever think yer would see the day when I would be knockin on yer doors with a mace? Well, I am here and I'm huntin a shot at someone. If it works out that me skill and fortune are enough to carry the day then that would be good fer me.

Don't give me no nonesense about me skills. I have beat most of yer one time or the other and am able and willin to do it again.

And what a grand Warlord Tournament it will be, what with not a single participating warlord in the top bracket. I didn't think it was possible that *every* warlord could be precluded from qualifying for the top bracket.

Gotta love the courage of people who don't even back up words with a signature.
As for the tournament, there's no prize there I wish to duel for, and I disagree with the notion of dueling in the tourney just for the sake of dueling. It will certainly be interesting though, and will wish my luck to individuals when I find out they are dueling in it.

C'mon, Nych, if you can't take criticism without making some insult like that, how will the place ever improve?

Besides, I wasn't even thinking of you as one of the inefficient callers. You're fine, but some of these guys need some help. That's the truth.

Rix,

I read of you calling the callers inept and saying there are no warlords in the arena, then I hear you complain that Nych has resorted to insults in his response to your statements.
It twould seem to me you are the one resorting to insults then passing it off on him to saying his response will not improve the sport.
Perhaps he is tired of the insults?

Those who hold title in the rings and stay far from them, along with those who sit and snipe the ones who do, are the cause of the continued decay.
To insult the few callers who remained here is uncalled for. It must take some courage to push open those doors each week, knowing full well their work is not appreciated and that they themselves are not respected.
I truthfully can't understand why they do.

I once implored you all to teach the new members of the community and that is not only teaching the ways of the blade but the ways of honor.
I see little honor in person that sits back and watches something die when he could do something to save it.

A quote that comes to mind is;
" Don't curse the darkness if you are not willing to light a candle".

As for the brackets of the warlord ranks, I seem to have little time to enjoy the rings of late. Were it in my power, I would be here several times a week to make the ringing of a scots longsword, once again echo within the cavern walls.

I call those who sit and watch then snipe at the ones who are trying to keep this sport alive, cowards and hypocrites as well.

It seems I can't attend the warlords tournament yet again this cycle or else I would gladly smack you a few times with a claymore for old times sake.

I won't get into a big argument here, but I don't want my words twisted. I hate that.

I never said the callers were inept. If they were inept, they wouldn't do their job at all. I said some were inefficient, and could stand improvement. That, my friend, is the truth and I dare you to deny it. Much as I appreciate what they do, the fact is some of them don't do it well and need some help. Simple as that.

If one caller wants to tell me to kiss his ass for saying what I did, that's fine. Though he'd be better served to actually listen and help his colleagues improve.

Oh, by the way, I do insult a lot of people, and I'll let you know that I do. I wasn't insulting Nych. I was insulting Mr. Snuggle.

Rereading it, Rix, it did sound like you were including Nych, since you were asking if the person would inform you if any efficient officials came by. I can see where the mistake would be.

Then again, I have a feeling you're also smart enough to know Nych's a hard working official, and it was just (what appears to me as) poor choice of wording.

Not really part of the discussion, and probably should mind my own business, but I figured to try to shed some light before there's a back-and-forth tacking of notes saying "you said this/I said this."

Rix,

Yer were tryin to insult me? And I had thought we were brothers-of-the-sword. Imagine that.

Anyhow, as yer all know, or should know I pretty much live and breathe the DoS and have had all kinds of officials call me matches. I aint found none that were bad since I don't think of them as other then officials when they are officialing, and when they are officialing there doing a good job.

Any mistakes made are corrected promptly and what more can yer ask fer? This is the Duel of Swords and what its about is fightin and some of yer forget that. In my opinion some of yer like to get to personal with the officials and run yer mouths when yer should be in the queue, fightin, or enjoying the night out on the town.

I plan on participatin in the Warlord Tournament and am proud of it. I have worked long and hard and thanks to a few peoples what taught me to use me head rather then me anger I have reached me first goal.

I challenge yer slackers what stand on the side and complain to come to the tournanment if yer meet the rules and demonstrate the skills what made yer a Warlord.

In closin, I throw down the gauntlet come pick it up if yer can.

I think you're right, Var. I never was great with my wording. My mistake. Not all of the callers are in need of help.

And, Snuggle, ask around. I've always ran my mouth and talked from the sidelines. I don't feel the need to back up anything I say, never have, never will. Deal with it, bucko.
