NEWS FROM THE DUEL OF SWORDS by Eli Grady
Baron Ellisa Morgan, holder of the 12th Baronial Ring has challenged the newly crowned Overlord, Cletus Gandrfald for the title of Overlord. Details to be announced at a later date
On the evening of the 20th day of the fourth month by the Eastern calendar the Baroness Karen Wilder, holder of fourth Baronial ring did effortlessly defeat Warlord Seamus Mac Donnaugh in two straight matches successfully defending her title.
The Barons Council has voted to strip Baron Jeff Oakenshield of the 6th Baronial Ring due to his absence and non response to query’s. The Baron Verceterix Favre, holder of the 11th Baronial Ring has been appointed champion and will defend the 6th ring against Warlord Ramsus Tidewater at a time and place to be designated.
Warlord Daryl Kyle has challenged the Baron Magnus for the right to wear the 2d Baronial Ring. Time and place yet to be determined.
THE SOCIAL SWIRL BY Evan Fondor
The Baroness Lydia St. Cyr was found in a semi attired position in the public fountain of Dowager Rog. Several empty bottles of LeSan Brande (35th year, fine bouquet, nutty taste, excellent choice) and a half full bottle of Visk were scattered about her. She resisted all efforts to extract her from the fountain insisting she was a water maid. The Dowager Street watchman reports she accosted a mage and small group of evil looking swordsman and in
the exchange of words she was turned into a large clay fish. Her family is offering a small reward to anyone who can undo the spell and return her to the normal condition.
Rumor has it that the notorious “G” of DoS fame has become interested in guild activities. This is an odd turn of affairs from a man who has been vehement in his disdain for all things related to guild activities. Furthermore, based on public information The Baron Verceterix Favre has extended an invitation to “G” to become a member of an unidentified guild. How perfectly charming.
The Family DuVal has relocated into Le Maisons from places unknown and have announced the coming out party of their daughter Anexora on the 1st Day of the 5th month. Festivites, illuminations, and a rare appearance of le Circus de Troll will provide entertainment. (by invitation only)
EDITORIAL Garumph Fondor
The Duel of Swords is enjoying a mild resurgence in popularity. Whatever the reason, we have cause to be thankful. So, for the new members and the old welcome.
Unfortunately little news is forthcoming from the Duel of Magic and the Duel of Fists. If anyone has any news of their activities please inform Eli Grady.

Note to whatever is supposed to appear to be an editor:
I am still vehement in my disdain for guilds, that fact obviously is common knowledge, and therefore, I appear to be running out of, shall we say, cannon fodder for my mocking material.
Oh, and to Rix, I am still waiting on that application.

Reading over the edition tacked to the Arena cork, a faint chuckle echoing in the empty basement. Wheedling parchment and quill from the lads, Ayly settled at a table to craft her note to the editor. A pause, she'd seen the editor's name, but it was uncertain as to if that being were male or female. A slight shrug, ah well. She would simply address it to the staff.
Greetings to the staff of the "RhyDin Times Reporter",
Note was taken that you expressed little information ensuing from the Duel of Fists and the Duel of Magic. Might one suggest perhaps actually sending your reporter to the OutBack or Island? It seems to me that it would likely be difficult to gather the news of those venues without doing so.
While I cannot speak for the OutBack or those that attend it's management, I frequently can be found easily enough on the Island, as well as often in the Arena during dueling hours. I welcome your reporter in either place. My office is located on the Island to the side of the bar and kitchen area, please accept my invitation for your reporter to seek me there. If that is not acceptable, then feel free to seek out any of the Island Officials during
regular dueling hours. There are also many patrons about during dueling hours whom I am sure would welcome being interviewed.
The Island's hours are openly known, but if you need aid in finding them, please notify me in care of either this cork or the Island.
Aylysia d'Etoile
Guardian of Twilight Island
Reading her penning over, a satisfied nod as she tacks it to the cork, the ends fluttering in the faint current of air winding through the near empty Arena. A jaunty whistle taken up, a wave and wink to the serving lads as she sets off once more, about her day.
