Results of the Challenge for the Ninth Ring!

This evening, April 11th, I had the honor of witnessing the challenge match between Cletus Ganderfald and Secondat for the right to hold the Ninth Baron's Ring.

Gloria Blaze stood by Secondat's side as his second. Cletus Ganderfald dueled under the red and black of Polaris, Magnus at his side. He fought for the honor of Arane Ganderfald.

At first, the Overlord Dalamar stepped in. Var stood for the Warlord against Dalamar. In six short rounds, Dalamar shut out the Baron to send him out of the ring. Dalamar next faced Cletus, where the road was not as easy. Six rounds later, the Warlord had secured his right to duel Secondat for the Barony.

The duel went quickly, the Warlord gaining four unanswered points in the first five rounds. It appeared Cletus would gain a shutout victory in six, as Dal had done before. However, in the sixth round, Secondat landed a higher blow as the warlord couldn't step out of the way. The seventh round proved to be the last, though, as Cletus blocked the Baron's reversed cut to seal the win.

The new Baron has declared his alignment to be Renegade to the Overlord.
