In honor of the Overlord challenge set to take place this upcoming Monday, we at The Blindfold would like to donate to you a life-size century-old sculpture native to the Loranglon Province and titled simply "The Duel" by its anonymous sculptor. We hope you find it as charming as we have, and that it finds a suitable home in your Arena. Our staff shall gladly deliver it on the day of the event.

The Duel was delivered at some point that afternoon prior to the night's Overlord challenge. It adjoins the south-end wall directly beneath the large portrait of Gondar. For the day's remainder, a bleached-white sheet covers the artwork with excesses touching the floor on all sides.

That night The Duel is unveiled, and its two statues now draw a large, crystalline "x" before Gondar's semblance.

It was Wednesday, the hour was growing late, and Ace stepped into the VIP area of the Blindfold Arena, which was located on one side of the ring at ground level. Ace had yet to miss the Wednesday night festivities since taking residence at the Blindfold more than four months prior.
The regulars knew the last table long the back wall was his. The table was small, and it housed only one chair. Ace never had guests. The wall to the right of the chair was stained brown from tobacco juice.
The tenders knew by now what time to expect Ace to arrive, and they always had his table prepared accordingly. One mug of thick black ale, three cigars, a rap sheet or betting line for the night's events, and two uncooked steaks awaited him very evening. However, on this night, there was also a small envelope lying in the middle of the table.
Ace paid no attention to it, but rather continued with his normal night. Typically, he recognized the fighters after glancing over their sheet. Ten minutes before the start of the fight, a middle-aged man would approach the far corner and pick up the bet Ace always left on the end of the table. Ace never spoke. Any spectator who happened a glance to the corner could only make out the hazy figure of a man and the faint red glow of burning tobacco,
engulfed in smoke.
Following the fight, he would normally leave. However tonight he lingered to address the envelope. After breaking the seal of the Blindfold, his eye read.

Baron of the Thirteenth Ring of the Duel of Swords and our guest,
The Blindfold shall continue to hold to its promise of giving free room and board to any titleholder of the Duel of Swords who desires them, and we hope that you find our facilities accommodating. We do request a small favor of you at this time. We are seeking scouts to visit the Duel of Swords Arena during its operating hours to study and report any successes and/or failures of the healing entity they call the Ward of Gondar. Whether or not you
choose to participate in dueling there is your prerogative; but if you should, we forewarn that you take extra precautions in avoiding any severe blows, for we have reason to believe that the Ward is weakening. We also ask that you speak to no one of this service outside The Blindfold. You will be compensated well for your time.
Furthermore, we wish to inform you that if you should align yourself as Loyal to our dueling proxy, we guarantee that you will be offered opportunities in the near future to earn rewards with your talents as a duelist. This is by request of the proxy himself. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

He departed soon after reading. But rather than returning to his room, he detoured to the Blindfold main office area. He dropped the letter off with one word written across it: done.
