Eleventh Challenge Results

On this night of Wednesday, October 2, reigning Baron Verceterix Favre and Lorance Sneggle met to duel for the rights to the eleventh ring.

Both duelists fought without ladies of honor or seconds. Baron Favre fought under the colors of crimson and black while the challenger chose to duel without a banner. Verceterix was given the choice of how to defend his title and elected to fight to the best two of three.

The first match raised eyebrows as the duelists mirrored each other for over half of the rounds with neither gaining more than a one-point lead until the final round, in which a sidestep from a thrust and a fancy riposte decided the match in favor of Verceterix.

The second match began with Baron Favre taking the first point and Lorance surpassing it for a commanding lead. Verceterix was able to rally quickly, however, beginning a stalemate of eight rounds which was finally broken by a thrust from Lorance under an attempted reversal.

The third match began immediately after the second. Despite Lorance acquiring the lead first for the first time in the challenge, Verceterix was able to regain and keep the lead up to the end of the duel, which was decided by simple defense.
