The First Annual Ganderfald Affair

Monday evening the First Annual Ganderfald Affair, sponsored by former Overlord, Cletus Ganderfald, and his wife, Arane, was held in the Annex pitting the Duel of Swords' most entertaining and dramatic personalities against one another in a battle royale event. The festivities in the Annex started off with two last minute replacements to the line-up. Goon evidently got lost on his way to the Arena and Ramsus was MIA so Tareth Thorn and Dawn Shadowsbane joined Lorance Sneggle, Cassius Maximius, Elijah Basia Uhr, Avery Shiv Blade, Elle McBride, Bode Bojangles, Damien Mortis, and Lupton est Dracoern in the specially constructed elevated ring.

Perhaps looking to pick off the drunk link, the match began with a handful of the duelists taking Bode out. Elle finished the job, sending Bode flipping out of the ring and to the ground. The trash talk began early and remained through out the match as Avery, Damien, and Tareth among others exchanged insults. Tareth didn't last in the ring much longer, however. Elle claimed her second victim of the night by sending Tareth over the top rope as Avery shouted, "Eat it, Loser."

Elle and Lupton continued to work together, sending Damien out of the match in the very next exchange. The rate of alcohol outside the ring quickly increased and the insults from those eliminated and at the bar began to rival the insults inside the ring. Cas then made himself a presence in the ring by sending Sneggle to the floor as the next to be eliminated.

The six left in the ring -- Cas, Avery, Elijah, Dawn, Lupton, and Elle -- then began to turn on one another. Avery growled at Lupton. Lupton barked back. Avery spat at Cas. Cas flipped Avery off. Lupton questioned Elijah on whether or not he left forever. Cas repeated the question back to Lupton. Elle repeated the question to Avery. Elijah's role in the trash talking was soon over as Elle continues to send men from the ring. Her triumph didn't last long as Avery cleaned her clock on the same exchange. Despite the hit from Avery, Elle remained in the ring.

The trash talking again began as Cas and Elle exchanged comments not meant for repeating and Avery continued to herald his supremacy. After another round of heavy exchanges from all sides, flirtatious banter began between Lupton and Elle regarding whether or not she was an attractive target. Elle invited Lupton over for target practice after the match which in turn caused Elijah to spit out the drink he was helping himself to at the bar.

Shortly after, the group left inside the ring turned on Cas. Dawn landed the strike to send him out of the ring. Dawn, Avery, Lupton, and Elle squared off. The three other opponents turn on Avery but it is again Elle who manages the blow that eliminates him. Cas helped Avery up and the pair went to abuse the Ganderfald's tab.

With Avery and Cas now out of the ring, Lupton and Elle set their sights on Dawn. Dawn refused to go down without a fight, matching Lupton and Elle at every step of the way. Finally, it was Lupton that landed the blow to end Dawn's hopes at emerging from the ring victorious. Bode and Damien, still easing their wounds with alcohol, were encouraged by the fact that there was "still one hottie up there, even if she's got PMS".

After Dawn was eliminated, Elle took Lupton's hand and announced to those in attendance, "No matter how hard you may try, you can't beat the Emperor and his Conspirator." With that said, the pair jumped from the ring, eliminating themselves at the same time.

The Ganderfalds decided to award the monetary prize to Elle and Lupton. However, Elle said that wasn't necessary, taking the envelope containing the check for herself. "I'm sure Lupton's half will cover your services for the evening," Arane was heard telling Elle.

The evening was a great success and fabulously entertaining. The Ganderfald family congratulates Elle and Lupton on their victory and looks forward to next year's event.
