Challenge to the 9th (Cassius vs. Drey)
From: hostgamevar@aol.com (HOST Game Var)

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Duel of Swords
On the evening of November 25th, along with the honor of witnessing the Overlord Challenge, I was given the honor to witness the challenge issued by Warlord Drey Starke unto Baron Cassius Maximus for the right to hold the 9th Baronial Ring. By virtue of success in performing the test of worthiness, Drey used his right of immediate challenge unto Baron Cassius. Not wanting to put it off, the two duelists agreed to dueling at that time and requested my services to call a best of three match.
The lead of the first duel went to and stayed with Cassius. He scored in the first round and by the fifth had a 3-0 lead and four cuts in that span. Though Drey battled back to tie it at 3 a piece with a series of offensive moves on his own, Cassius regained the lead for good the following round and took the win the round after... winning 5-3 in 12 rounds.
The second duel was simply dominated by the challenging Warlord. With an expert combination of cuts and parries, Drey secured a perfect shutout to bring us to the third and final duel.
Five duels was Drey's limit. Cassius took the lead from the start, and though Drey tied it once, Cassius would not relinquish the Baronial title so easily. A combination of offense and defense brought Cassius a 4-2 lead by the 7th round, and in the end used the last bit of strength he had in a parry to thwart Drey's thrust for the 5-2 win in 8 rounds.
Thus, Cassius defended his right as Baron of the 9th. Congratulations to both Cassius and Drey for a spectacular display of skill.

The tester was a mild surprise, actually. I was expecting someone different. However, I also wasn't going in there intending to side with Cas, but his champion didn't make it. Either way, I was unprepared for whichever of the three it was gonna be.

I still would've beat 'im, Barkeep.
Yer a good duelist, Barkeep... but people like Drey are fighters, nae duelists. It takes th' experiences o' war an' th' field o' battle tae fight against thet an' win consistantly.

You are both in the Silver Division. So you get two shots at him.
In fact, you duel his team next week.

Fyn,
That duel is done and over. Check with the TDL information services to see how it went down.
