Departure of a soldier.

The inn door closed behind him with a hard thump, a sound of finality that hadn't been there before. Manni looked up into the swirling clouds at the hint of moon left in the sky, the sounds of the final rounds of the tournament suddenly absent in his ears.

The sword slid noiselessly from the scabbard at his side, it's translucent milky stone blade tinted blue with an inner glow. He held it out before him for a moment, absorbing its flawless texture, its smooth edge even despite the hard use he'd put it to tonight.

With practiced ease, he lifted the blade, bringing it to the back of his head. His free hand holding the tail of dark hair bound there, he sliced the entire thick coil off with the preternaturally sharp weapon.

A flick of his wrist secured his sword back into its scabbard, and he turned to draw a rather ordinary-looking dagger from his belt with one hand, while the other pulled a small sheaf of parchment from his opposite pocket.

Holding the paper to the wall and the tail before it, he plunged the dagger through both, pinning them to the public notice boards. This done, he pulled the coin purse from his belt, coins of this realm that weren't even worth the bronze and silver metal comprising them where he was going, and bound it to the dagger's handle.

Brushing his hand back through his now shorn hair, he tucked the stray locks behind gently pointed ears and turned from the building, striding into the steamy Rhydin streets.

To the patrons of the Arena

Thank you. Farewell.
