Challenge for the 9th

Post by DoS Archive » Thu Apr 01, 2004 11:36 am

The body of the text sent to the DoS officials:<>As for reasons for this challenge, if I were to give many, they would sound like excuses, not reasons. I have a few motivations, including to become a Baron again. If anyone wants to accuse me of pointless challenges, I'm sure you could find other targets to ridicule as well. If the Baroness wishes more than this, I will be kind to provide them to her, however.-Steven Glowacki

Warlord,

Know you, that as I have stated many days earlier, that should you be victorious in this match against the honorable Baroness Luthien, then I shall be challenging you before the ring is warm on your finger. My reasons are simple, I stated I would do such to whomever should challenge for the 9th Ring. So, if it is this baroney that you desire, don't expect a long term lease.

Sincerely,

Moralitor the Black

Warlord Glowacki:My wife is more politic than I. You stated other reasons. I would hear them, else you find me pushing the Mage aside in a race to reclaim the ring.Whether you choose to say your piece publicly is of no matter to me. However, your statement bears the implication that you have what you consider to be cause, and if you will make an accusation regarding my wife's reign, you will answer for it.Iain MacKenziePrince Consort, New MountainsideLord Tynsdale

Moralitor:

I understand what you had professed before. If I were to win, I would expect immediate challenge. While I full-well know that I could lose that defense, what is the point of holding the ring while not defending? When I acquired my first ring, I expected challenge the next day, and was surprised it took a week for someone to challenge me. I know I will acquire little glory for winning rings and holding them more mere weeks, though it may come
through defending my ring.

Iain:

If you need reasons, I will gladly provide them to you as spouse of the challenged, but bear in mind they have little to do with your wife in particular. I make no accusation against her. If you truly wish to know them, contact me personally.

::passing by Iain's post, he chuckles faintly and pens a short reply, leaving it quite unsigned::
My, my, Lord Tynsdale..a bit protective of the Queen, are we? Perhaps a feeling that she isin't an able enough dueler to defend herself?

Hey Rad, shut it. Being so callous as to not even being able to make pretense of caring for someone else, you wouldn't know where Iain, or any good husband is coming from in regards to looking out for one's wife, whether or not said wife needs her spouse's defense.

I'm not the most powerful man in RhyDin, Rad. I can't breathe fire or shoot it out my backside, or fly or anything like that. But I do have an extensive background in forensics, which includes handwriting analysis. Save some face next time and just use your own John Hancock.

You sound like a pre-teen shoplifter. I didn't ask you to sign a confession, but I'm going to ask you to stop making such an immature scene.

::After a moment, there is a cool breeze which rustles the papers.::::Then, there is a sheet of paper thin silver on the board, the main text in what can only be crushed rubies, the signature in gold.::M'Lord Eltorçh: I find it most interesting that some would ask thee to hold thine opinions silent, yet avow that all should be heard. If it may be possible, I would speak with thee on some matters. I am often busy of late, yet perhaps a time can be arranged. Place an answer here, or at the Inn called the Golden Ivy, and mine agent shall retrieve it for me.
