"Issue of Baronial Challenge"

A copy of an official "Issue of Baronial DoS Challenge" is left in each of the members of the Baron's Council and DoS Warlords' mailboxes at the Arena, as well as posted to the ancient corkboard. The official copy left in the DOS Standings Keeper's "in" box. Notarized and properly marked for official validation by the DoS officials. The signet ring stamp of Family
Lathadoscia for authenticity. The issued challenge reads as follows, with the official list of qualifying peer wins attached;


Duelers of Swords, Officials of Swords, Members of the Baron's Council, and most importantly, Baron Lupton est Dracoern,

I, DoS Warlord Baphelocutis est Lathadoscia, being a qualified DoS Warlord who has not challenged this cycle, has collected more than the ten, 10, qualifying peer wins, and has waited for official public notice of title acquisition by Lupton est Dracoern, DoS Baron, do hereby officially challenge, using my once a cycle right and privilege to challenge a DoS Baron as a qualified DoS Warlord, for rank, title, and ring of the holder of the Ninth, 9th,
Baron of Swords, Lupton est Dracoern.

To clarify my reasons for the timing of this challenge, much of which I have already publicly addressed to the duelers of Swords on the Arena corkboard, I summarize the following; I have already stated that should Lupton est Dracoern attain any sort of power in RhyDin, including achieving challengeable title in the Arena of Swords that I would immediately seek to take that away from him in as much humiliating a fashion as I am , possible. I am
simply putting my dueling skill and my blade on the line to back up that which my mouth has promised to the dueling community.

My reasons for hating the current DoS Baron Lupton est Dracoern are well known with my promise to challenge him as well. He betrayed me and committed a coup of House Lathadoscia. The after effect of which has caused me to fall from grace within my own House, and more importantly in my Family for my failure. When no one else was there for Lupton est Dracoern, who was once of Family Lathadoscia as well, I took him in. I allowed him too much and he
manipulated it to his own ends regardless of Family or House. Until I have rectified and avenged this betrayal onto me I have been cast out of the House, in solo quest. He was my mistake and the reason for the betrayal to the House and now I must correct that mistake.

This is the way of things as I see them and as my honor dictates I am compelled to handle it thus. Whether you chose sides or not in this challenge matters naught to me, for I am simply doing this for myself, not because I want to be Baron, rather, because I do not want Lupton est Dracoern to be Baron of the Swords, which I love. Since I have been cast out of my House on this solo quest, and my quarrel is solely with DoS Baron Lupton est Dracoern,
I shall not ask any to stand as my Second or Lady of Honor. Nor shall I display any colors or represent anyone other than myself.

This challenge shall be a classic example of a traditional "Duel of Honor" to settle a dispute with something on the line worth winning. My intent had been to wait to challenge after seeing how I would fair in a Quarterly Warlord's Tournament, however, I must stand by my words and let my blade speak for me, especially against so strongly a conflicting issue with my own personal dueling career. I shall await official response from DoS Baron Lupton
est Dracoern on the particulars to settle the matter of this challenge for his rank, title, and ring of the Ninth, 9th, Baron of Swords. May the fates guide his or my blade to the proper destiny for victory for the one who deserves not only by the skill of their weapon.

Oh yes, finally, an interesting challenge match! We'll accept bets now on the outcome.

Will I get yelled at for pointing out the matching dubious sexual histories of not just one, but both contestants?

Will Bapheloc be yelled at for tiny writing too?

Will I actually ever get challenged? You'd think it'd have happened by now, but is everyone waiting to jump on Lupton?

I happen to think the ring suits you well, and if you do get challenged I'm probably going to have to put on ::audible gasp:: a dress. Again. And it's only been a month or so since I wore the last one, and if you think I'll wear one again this soon you're seriously pushing your luck.

For those that wish to know,

The challenge match between myself and Baron Lupton est Dracoern will be in the Arena proper at the hour of 9:00 PM EDT on the 10th day of this month, which is this coming Monday night. It should be an interesting and emotional match in a somewhat old fashioned "Duel of Honor" style at least for me to settle an old greivance. Regardless of the outcome this match shall settle the issues between myself and the "Betrayor". As I have already stated
I am for once breaking with tradition and pagentry by not having a Second, Lady of Honor, or colors presented. This is a personal issue that I wish not to have to involve other with. For those that do side with Lupton in this challenge I will assume that you are condoning the criminal betrayal he didst upon me and will remember that rather personally.

If the issue at hand were, Baphelocutis, truly private...you would have settled your differences in a private medium. Your 'public' challenge is all that is required to bring the community into it, and bring them you have. Do you truly wish to honor others, Baphelocutis?
