Change of heart

::Christopher the young private messenger boy walks up to the old cork board, holding his backpack over one shoulder. His long day to soon be over. Already he had left the message with all the appropriate people, and this was to be his last stop. Taking out the note, he read it over once more to make sure everything was in order for Baron Blade::

The last few days I have thought a lot about the transpiring actions of the last Overlord match that took place. Specifically I have thought about the situation of the neutral Baron Evan Rush Rynth being banished into a renegade Baron for his actions. When I took my ring I pledged my loyalty to Dal for several reasons. One being, that since I was still new to the Arena, I would not judge Dal because I did not know him yet. The little I did know I was
impressed with, so I gave my loyalty to him. I said that I would stay loyal until I found something that I did not agree with. Well, that something has arisen. I do not feel that the Barons actions were wrong. Nor do I feel that they were in any way worthy of him being banished to a renegade. Some might say that he opposed Dal by stepping in, but I feel in my heart that he was only wanting the match to proceed without interruption. He did what he
felt was right in the matter. And I feel he did not directly oppose Dal by doing so. I feel that his actions were, and can be interpreted as being Neutral. I have heard Dal’s stance on this issue and now know that our views conflict. As he thinks that a Neutral baron shall keep to himself, and not act as a ”hired Sword”. Nor shall they go back and forth in support of the crown as they see fit. Alas.... I feel differently on this. So I Loyal Baron
Avery Shiv Blade, do write to everyone to say that I am changing my status to Neutral.

I feel that I do speak out against Dal in this situation, to back up the actions of a Renegade Baron. For this I do not think myself Loyal to Dal. Yet, one difference in views does not make me a renegade either. For I still hold Dal to be a great person, and still agree with much of what he has done. I hold him with the utmost respect, and that is why I felt it was hard to come to this decision. I follow Baron Evan Rush Rynth in doing what I feel is
right, even though others might not agree, and my status is changed for it. So from the point that this becomes official, I Baron Avery Shiv Blade, do wish to be a Neutral Baron.

Is becoming a renegade a "banishment?" I mean, it's not that bad. But still, if Evan feels he is in his heart absolutly neutral, which I feel means not totally against or for the overlord, then a great injustice has been rewarded. I back you up on your well decided decision on becoming neutral, and that yer reasons are justified. By the way, you most likely don't know me. I'm Jozzi

Reading over the young Baron's post with curious interest, the General ponders with pursed lips.
It was intriguing, to see the Baron so new to the sport act with such acute insight as to the controversy of the moment, making decisions about his title not in the heat and bitterness of conflict, but in the wise discussion with his conscience.
Having some increased optimism for the state of the Sport, Perrinis goes and finds some less-stellar youth to hit with a pike, or some other large form of pole arm.

::Sitting, not really paying attention to much, Avery just stared off into space. Christopher, his private messenger, waited for him to speak so he could record the words. Not really wanting to be there himself at the moment, dreaming about the games his fellow friends were playing right now. Finally he spoke up in hopes to speed things up.::

So how do you want this to start?

::Turning to look at Christopher, Avery studied him. The poor kid obviously wanted to be somewhere else right now. A smile came to his lips as he held the private letter sent to him concerning the change he had made.::

All right Christopher, take this down for me, and then deliver a copy to the person who wrote me this letter, and also post it on the cork board.

To whom it may concern,

I just want people to know that the reasons I did change my alignment, were the reasons I gave before. It had nothing else to do with the situation. In truth, I think Dalamar was wise to use the Test in that situation. As my beliefs are that any warlord that challenges to become Overlord should be forced to take the test. Any Baron that challenges should not have to take the Test, as they have already proven themselves. I believe that a warlord
should first defeat a Baron, and then go on to challenge. This would show some amount of respect to the Overlord. In actuality, by defeating a Baron they have already taken the test. They have proven their worth. Yet by skipping that process, and challenging the Overlord outright, they do not take the Test. So I believe that they should be forced to take the test.

So the reason I changed my alignment had nothing to do with the test. Nor did it have anything to do with a friendship or loyalty to Baron Rynth. It was for the simple disagreement of views on what a neutral Baron's rights were. Basically being that I did not agree with Dal's actions in changing Evan's alignment. Yet I do agree with everything else he did prior to that. I hope this to clear up any confusion.
