The Era of the Bad Penquin
From: badpenquin@aol.com (BadPenquin)
Date: 12 Aug 1998 02:10:12 EDT
On a perfectly sunny afternoon, some passerby may notice a slightly unusual creature entering the Arena. Truth be told, few creatures that have passed into the Dueling halls have been more unique, than this particular penquin.
Standing, he is about three and a half feet from flippers to the tip of his noggin, and you can add on a few more inches for the shiny tin viking cap, complete with a pair of comically curving horns, that rakishly crowns the antarctic native. Headgear, however, is not the most striking feature of this amphibious bird, as even the most.. well, slow-witted onlooker would notice that from the rolly-polly belly his fat feet peek out from under from, to
the scruffly fluff on his head, he is an unusual and uncompromising shade of.... BLUE. His cartoonisly large black eyes peer forward their spots above his pointy beak as his flippers idly flap against his chubby body. And yet, all that flapping hardly makes a sound, because this bird is severly covered in perfectly soft, plushy fluff that would put a legion of Muppets to shame.
With a lazy, careless waddling, the penquin descends the steps into the semi-bustling arena, pecking about at couch cushions as the evening's callers prepare, and staring constantly at the practicing and posturing of duelers young and old.
((Hey all, feel free to jump in and play with the penquin. Just bow down to my "Ultimate Creative Authority" on this thread and keep in mind I for one, am shooting for absolute comic ridiculousness!!
So amaze me with your wit and disturbing goofiness, America!! Send in those tapes!!))

::Idly sitting around waiting for a duel, Lexi spies the blue penguin. She finds it odd that such a creature is even in here. Fascinated that no one has stepped on him yet, as one can get easily trampled on a dueling night, she continues to watch him. As the penguin slowly turns to face her, she barely hears the distinct sound of "Shoo bee doo bee doo........" As she listens, her eyes go wide and she
swiftly scampers behind the bar. Moving to cover the tap, she hollers out:
"No!!!!! Someone save the Bud!!!"

((Yes, this is a post, this is even a signed post. Well, more of an action. It is strictly used for the purpose of comedy. :) ))

((Not a post but an action. :p))
Jola had seen it all. Or so she thought. Until she saw the blue, fluffy, waddling creature enter the arena. With unabashed fascination she watched as the, well, it must be a penguin of sorts, waddled about doing whatever he (?) was doing.
Jola chuckles as Lexi runs behind the bar, then her chuckles die off as the penguin looks at her. With laughter still in her eyes, she dumbly says, "Hi there. " Then her laughter bowls her over.

Goon was bored. Poor Goon. Poor Goon decided to head for the Arena. He opened the door to the Inn's basement.. and what did he see, but..
"Lot Boom bird thing!"
Flailing wildly, the rather large but easily frightened lovable lug turned and took off like a shot, sending tables, chairs, patrons, and small dust particles flying as he exited the Inn.

Turning the corner from the back, he notices a ruckus being performed in the Arena. Looking about, he sees Jola laughing, Lexi hiding behind the bar, Goon flailing and running about, knocking things over, among other reactions. Quirking a brow, he looks at the penguin, which seems content to stand and stare. Reaching out to the nearest person, he grips their shoulder, leaning in and saying.
"I'm hungry, do penguins taste like chicken?"

Roland poked his head into the arena, blinking as he spied the penguin from the outback. Slowly, he ventured down the stairs for a better look, not noticing the man beside him as he haulted to study the penguin. He remembered the penguin doing something to Goon during one of those long TTBL dueling nights...
Roland casted a glance to Goon, then blinked as someone grabbed his arm and asked, "I'm hungry, do penguins taste like chicken?" Roland pondered the familure sounding words, still looking to the bird.
"Hmm, well... with enough spices... maybe a little lard... what wouldn't taste like chicken, eh?", Roland replied absently, gazing at the chaos.

Enters the Arena in one of his better moods, and see the penguin, Jola, Lexi, Goon, G'nort, and Roland in that order. He overhears G'nort saying, "I'm hungry, do penguins taste like chicken?"
Roland answers, "Hmmm, well, with enough spices, maybe a little lard, what wouldn't taste like chicken, eh?"
With that, the Duke draws his blade shouting to G'nort, "No you don't! I have first crack at it! That is penguin that killed my first wife off the French coast in 1425!"
Then he charges the penguin, ready to kill.
Percival Marchand
Duc de Clermont
What the heck, I wanted in on the party?

He continues to lean, simply answering Roland's question about spices.
'Chicken wouldn't
Of course, Percy is going to get our dinner first if we don't act fast. And I'm still hungry"
He then starts forward, waiting for Percy to take teh bird out before..'borrowing" the prize.

Realization dawns on him as he moves forward.
'"Hmm, I didn't know Percy was married. And did he say French Toast? "

Jola stretches out a foot and promptly trips Percy, grinning as he kisses the floor.
Now boys, be nice to furry creatures and all that.

Well, Penguins don't have any fur. They're just featherless, flightless water foul.
And hopefully...
They taste like chicken.

Very upset, he leaps to his feet and turns on Jola. "Furry? I'm not after G'nort, silly! I am just after the penguin! It's the one that killed my second wife! It's gonna be one dead bird!"
Carefully making sure Jola can't get at him, he goes for the penguin again, not caring WHAT G'nort does with it after, as long as he gets to kill it now.

Jola waits only a moment before leaping atop Perci "No way dude!" and shoving G aside before her tackle. The trio tumbles to the floor.
You're delusional, Perci. ::grins::

With a wave of his hand, and the bellowing of his voice, he calls out to Percy
"Pay No Attention To The Woman Saving The Penguin!
Just don't destroy the body.. that's where the meat is.
I mean teh penguin, of course, yeah, I'm still hungry.."
He then gets one of those "looks" as he stares at Lexi...
"Hmm...."
