I am now announcing the formation of the Clermont Academy of Fencing. So what if I am lousy at this myself and don't know the first thing about teaching? I might as well make an effort. I am rich, so I can afford to be eccentric. Ain't it great?
So, it is quite simple. I have three openings for fellow teachers, as I want four classes of five students each. That means 20 openings for students. Make that 19, at least one has already been filled. There ARE some prerequisites for both teachers and students. First, you have to like me. If you don't, why would you want to either work with me or study under me? Second, I have to like you. If I don't, why would I want to hire you or teach you
anything? Teachers should be of at least GM rank. Students rank does not matter,if you want to learn and are willing to put up with me you are welcome. There are, as I said, 19 remaining openings. These will not necessarily be filled on a first come first serve basis. I may fill them arbitrarily. Just thought you should know.

I have perused with great intent your post concerning a school for the Sword. I would be delighted to have the opportunity to participate in this endeavour.
By way of background, I am a Wanderer. My journey has carried me far, both in distance and time. In my wanderings, I most recently have roamed into this fair Land of Rhydin, and I find myself enchanted by the local establishment. I have visited at the famed Red Dragon Inn on several occasions in the past several days (thirst and sustenance are of a high priority!). I must admit to some intimidation in the face of those with much better
communicative skills than I can muster. I marvel at the speeds with which thy inhabitants may converse, and I suffer great confusion when cyphering just who is speaking to whom! But the conversations, tho' difficult to follow, I have found to be entertaining.
Quite by accident this past weekend, I stumbled into the Dueling Arena and was enthralled by the activities taking place therein. I spent time studying the Rules and observing the play, and I have found myself drawn perforce to re-master the art of the Sword (in a far distant past it was said that I had a modicum of skill in this area).
Hence, my excitement in perusing your declaration of a School wherein I might regain the skill of the blade and in tandem become familiar with local custom. I entreat you to allow me to participate in this wonderful opportunity. (However, of fairness you should know that I have limited resources to devote to this endeavour due to the rigors of a side profession which I of needs must pursue to place food upon my table.)
How say ye Good Lord? If acceptance be thy edict, please be so kind as to inform me by sending a private rider with notice of time and place.

A bit of advice from one who has experience and one who has witnessed the history of many dojos. Do not bite off more than you can chew. Meaning that taking on a score of duelers to train from my experience and from watching others is quite a formidable task that you may not fully understand. Some of the best teachers, took on only a hand full of students. It's not quanity of masses to throw into the rings, but rather the quality of attention
given to each perspective future leader of the rings. I can understand your desire to teach or perhaps bolster your own ranks of House Rising, but opening your doors to the massess at large to take all and any who will come is perhaps a very self destructive potential.
Xenograg of Dojo Darelir, took only a couple of students at a time, taking new ones every so often so that Darelir continously had duelers of all levels going through different stages of their dueling careers. Shadowrun, took one group of six, his only class, even then some dropped out of the rings from normal attrition. Athlstan, would take one or two on here or there, quietly working with them. Ecore and myself tried to do it a variety of
ways, sometimes just a few, sometimes a larger class. Regardless, some duelers will be gone from normal reasons of attrition; boredom, other priorities, lack of advancement, or realizing that the "House" or "Dojo" way of life is not for them.
I am sure m'lord Kalamere de'Ardin could better emphaize the point I am trying to make. But, basically the point I am trying to vocalize is that as the spokesman of House Rising suddenly taking on a large group of students to train in the art of the duels can be seen as only one thing. A political manuever to try and overwhelm the Arena of Swords with House Rising Doctrine and duelers. I seriously doubt that barely one fourth of your students
will make Warlord within any of your personal projections, and of those that do, less will probably remain loyal to your House's motivations.
I do not doubt your ability to teach others to duel, or your ideals you'd like to help shape a new generation of duelers to Swords. I actually agree with thee on many terms and ways of things within the Arena of Swords, however, as a friend and a comrade at arms, I ask thee to reconsider your potential direction and course of actions. In essence start much smaller and build up over time and you will find you will probably have more success.
