" Sarana,

::Sitting by the fireplace in his chambers, Llen stares into the flames. He cannot believe the timing. He had just returned from the ruins of Camelot, and completed the reorganizing of Lakehome. All the preparations for re-forming the Knights of the Table had been finished. His world was almost perfect, and now Sarana's mother was ill. Sara had come to him sobing, telling him she had to go. No one knew how long she would be gone. Even with all the work he had before him, Llen suddenly knew he was
going to be lonely for a while. With a sigh, he stood, and left the room. There was work to be done, even if his heart was not in it (and how couold it be, when Sara had taken it with her to Shadowdale).

::Sarana sealed the envelope. She held the letter against her chest and closed her eyes. His eyes, his arms, his touch,..... paraded and seeped into the depths of her mind. Her eyes swelled with tears of good memory. Quietly, she arose and found the courier. She instructed him to deliver the missive posthaste. "As ye wish, M'lady." the courier said. ::
::a courier from Shadowdale arrives at Lakehome carrying a missive addressed to Llenlleawc du Lake, Knight of the Table, Prince of Eire, King's Champion ::
Love,
My mother has passed into the Afterlife. The clerics
did nay knowst what was wrong with her. The Great Sage,
Elminster, contacted me and informed that there is a rare virus
spreading amongst the main land Elves. He has asked for my
help in finding an herb which will help cure others who are ailed
wit' the deadly bug. Tis truly a risk I 'ave undertaken in lending a
hand; for this malady my 'ave found me as well. I wish nay to r
return home to ye until I am sure that I have nae gotten it. My
heart is saddened by our separation, but I nae wish
to chance or risk transferring this to ye without knowing my
diagnosis. I shall return home as soon as the work here is done
and the risks are gone.
I miss ye terribly,
Sara
::Llen reads the letter and stares into the fire, letting his thoughts travel back to times spent with Sara. His heart swelling with pride and love, he was none the less concerned for her health. With naught else possible, Llen decided to do the one thing he could think of to aid his love. Standing, he headed for the Lake Room. Perhaps the soothing lake waters and the ordered presence of mighty Excalibur would aid him in focusing his prayers.::

:: Sara closed her eyes to the end of her mother's painful expression. Seemingly, the death was slow and agonizing. The pain was as much for those around who witnessed the death also. Sara's heart tore,....she needed to get away....away from her father....the memories....the torment... and the sight of her mother.
She ran out of the bedroom and the household filled with sorrow. Her steps carried her toward her wanton of healing. She headed toward a tower. She knew, Elminster, the greatest sage in all the realms would console her. His guidance would help her deal with the grief which was something she had never experienced, although she had dealt with death on many an occasion. But, she had not expected this kind of pain. She would go to the Great Sage, in search of the answer and healing. She knew people
in town would stop her and ask questions, so she decided to take the old worn path, through the woods.
At the end of the path, she saw the old man, whom she knew so well..for he had taught her magic for many years. In the clearing he sat upon his stone. He wore a large and brown hat which pointed at it's edge. Without a word she walked toward him and sat.
Many minutes passed and then he broke the silence. His voice was soothing as always. He told her that he knew of her mother's death and that he now knew of an herb that would cure the mysterious virus. He told her all that he knew of the herb and of other Elves on the main land that were being effected by the deadly virus. After many hours, he had told her all that he could about the herb, what it looked like and where he thought it might be found. Somewhere in the Spine of the World mountains.
The journey would be long and dangerous, but it was destiny that she be the one to retrive it.
He handed her a small black bag.....a Bag of Holding. She recognized it immediately as the one she had left behind when she left Toril. It contained her staff and a few daggers (mostly magical ones), spell components, her spell book, and a ring of Teleportation (a gift from the Sage, so that she might return home at will)..... She collected her things and started out on her journey....::
