One the evening of September 2, upon the Battlefield just outside the Dueler's Arena of Rhydin, there was a grand and honorable event. That event went forth without controversy and consisted of nothing but respect and skill throughout.
Is this some sort of press release for a Presidential address like the Gettysburg Address? Not so out there as that analog. Rather it was the challenge of Warlord Daegarth Mithmellon to Contextint "Dexter" Montoya for the right to hold the 8th Baron's Ring.
The crowd and the competition seemed evenly matched for most of the evening, but in the end, Warlord Mithmellon was victorious and graciously and humble accepted the 8th Baron's ring from its previous holder, Dexter Montoya.
Below is how the match progressed. . . .
Round # Daegarth X Dex Montoy
1 low cut fancy circ parry
2 fancy sidestep stop hit
3 low cut fancy sidestep
4 fancy circ parry stop hit
5 stop hit fancy lat parry
6 fancy disengage thrust
7 high cut high cut
8 low cut low cut
9 fancy sidestep thrust
10 high cut high cut
11 thrust low cut
12 low cut fancy circ parry
13 high cut low cut
So ended the hard fought match between greatly skilled defensive and offensive duels. Daegarth did win by the margin of 5-3 in those 13 grueling rounds. Congradulations ta both, not only for allowing myself and many spectators ta be a part of a well fought match, but also by doing so in a form long sense seen in these rings. The evening had no really losers and DoS was the greatest of the winner of such a display.
Humbly yours in the Rings,
