T'was the night before tourney...

Since I couldn't be there for the tournament, I did something to let you all know I would be in spirit.

*G*
Warlord of the DoS
Twice Baron
"When I left you, I was but the learner, now I am the master"

That was the note tucked carefully in Jaycy's bag as she stood with Collie in her office. Glancing to her friend a moment, she offered an impish grin, which was mirrored in the other lady's face. A slight inclination of her head was seen before Jaycy looked around her private place. Smiling at each of the shadows, she murmured a key word under her breath. Rising from their settled places about
the room, the now dancing shadows spun their whirlwind dance around the two women, awaiting the gypsy's command.

With another few soft words, several of the shadow creatures crept away from the office, their destination being the Arena. Their duty this eve, as they were summoned, was to send the various serving lads into a deep sleep, the shadows sending them into their pleasant dreams of playing in the fields and of large tips from the dueling patrons.

With a nod, the remaining "servants" swirled closer to the women, becoming a cloak of night, rendering them completely invisible, to anyone, except each other, as they were both under the protection of the cloak of darkness.

With another nod, Jaycy and Collie moved out of the spacious office, their destination reached swiftly... the Arena. They slipped inside, and began their night's work.

Collie and Jaycy drifted into the arena, a hint of impishness was in the air as the conspirators set about at their project.

Jaycy had cast a spell prior to their entrance to send Hubie, Marcus, and the other serving staff into a sleep of wonderful dreams so they would not be able to speak as to what persons might have placed such strange things about in the wee hours of the morning when few even thought of coming there. More likely the lads and serving maids would have been frightened, but what by all outward appearances would have been ghosts at work.

The crepe paper streamers and flowers in bright pink were strung from the outter edges of the arena to a huge neon pink ball in the center of the ceiling. Pink foil swords dangled from the ends of the streamers. A bunch of the paper was gathered into a sort of tail and down the stairs of the annex where more of the crepe paper trimmings were in place. Topping off the decorations were two large sheet cakes, iced in pink and placed in stay fresh
containers and laid out on the bar. G. had catered more than one wedding in town so little details couldn't be overlooked.

Collie worked some magick of her own, not a fingerprint, scent, or any physical trace of any presence, but the serving staff, remained. She gave a wink to Jaycy and grinned, "So far.. so good."

"So far.. so good."

With a nod, Jaycy returned the wink, unable to wipe the grin from her face. "Just a few more things..." Looking around with an appraising gaze, her emerald eyes twinkling brightly, full of mischief, she nodded, as if confirming that statement. Twiddling her fingers as she looked over to her bag, the magickally constructed note rose, as if of its own mind. Motioning with a sweep of her arm, the note floated over to the ancient corkboards and
stuck itself there, for all to see.

Taking one last glance around, the gypsy moved to the center of the Arena, in the middle of one of the rings. Dropping to sit cross-legged on the sand, Jaycy closed her eyes, slipping into a magickal trance. Calling upon her bardic knowledge of magick, she set to weaving her spell. From a special pouch around her neck, as she sang the words, unseen, a small wire disappeared... her material component. Suddenly, from her fingertips, a flash of
electricity sprung, leaping first from one decoration to the other, energizing them all swiftly.

Standing, she spoke a single power phrase, as each decorative piece was glowing slightly from the infusion. "Duel of Swords Staff." Slowly, the phrase spoken, the glow faded. Within the adornments, however, lay the key to the spell, in which only a Duel of Swords staff person could safely touch and remove them. Anyone else attempting to remove the pink things would be shocked... literally.

Grinning over to Collie as she moved from the ring, to her bag, she spoke with a whisper, her voice carrying over the silence to her cohort. "I'm done. What else?"

Collie's own grin was as wicked as her cohort's as she pondered a moment. A nod of her head as one of those light bulb went off looks came to her face.

After a few whispered words between the two, Collie cast the final spell, magic older than most in Rhydin would understand. It obliterated any signs of use of their combined spells and erased any hope of tracing them by magic of any means.

As the two left, the heavy arena door slammed as though a strong gust of wind or irate patron had passed through. Hubie and Marcus awoke with a start as what sounded like a thunder clap brought them out of their pleasant sleep. Jaws dropped and eyes went wide as the lads stared at the decorations all over the place.

Upon hearing from a passerby about how the Arena was decorated, G stormed there immediately. He entered and glared about at the desecration of the building, finding teh color of the room absolutely horrendus. Growling, he went to tear something down, and received a spark for his effort.

Finding the note that was attempted to look like his handwriting, however had a few descrepancies, that would more than likely go unnoticed by the people of the arena, he tore that down, as it was simply a note tacked to teh wall. He read and reread it, then crumped it.

He then went and pulled out a piece of parchment and wrote his own message.

To ALL of the Patrons of the Duel of Swords.

This Foul desecration of this Arena was not perpertrated my me. I have eyewitnesses as to my whereabouts last evening. And -ANYONE- who knows me Knows -Damn- well I would Never in my life do such a thing as use the color Pink as a decoration. In Fact, I know only two people in Rhydin who would attempt to pull a stunt like this and try to place the blame on me. Rest assured -I- will deal with her and make her pay for this Personal Insult. I
have asked the boys if they saw anything, and they admitted to having fell asleep, all around the same time. Oddly enough, how does such a thing happen? I have one answer. Magic. Attempts to remove any decor can only result in getting a shock. Would I make it impossible for me to touch it? And, if I did, how would I make such a thing possible? Magic.

Has -anyone- seen me do any sorts of Magical tricks of this magnitude every before in their lives? I'll answer that with a resounding -NO-.

I do not like the color Pink. And of those two who would go to this trouble, only One is from teh Arena. And as I said, I will deal with her accordingly.

I apologize for the horrible look of the Arena just before the tournement. It seems people feel a practical joke at my expense should make you all suffer this eyesore.

Thank you and try to enjoy the tournement. And if -Anyone- decides to talk to me and tell me I did a great job, I hope you've counted your teeth, cause I will respond in anger. Consider that fair warning.

Looking over the note that was left in teh Arena, and seeing how it was attempted to be in his style, he noted something that was Neglected.

There was -Nothing- in greeting. He -always- started his notes to the arena with a greeting of some sort. A "To All" or something like that. More proof that this note was indeed Forged.

He knows that -Anyone- who truly knows him will know for certain that he was not the one responsible for this Vandalism.

Remembering she had something she needed to leave in the office, Jaycy made her way toward the Arena. Far ahead, with an uh oh, she spied Gnort as he entered the Arena, looking fit to kill.

<m> I wonder whasup with him...

Changing course, the woman made her way to the back entrance of the Arena, once more calling the shadows about her in their protective cloak of invisibility. Slipping in silently, she made her way to the kitchen door, hovering by it as Gnort wrote his note. Once near the door, she waited silently until Gnort left.

Once he was gone, she went to peer at his note, wincing slightly at the words. Looking around, the gypsy knew something had to be done. Murmuring to herself, unheard by any others who might happen in, she wove a new spell... and as the last word flew from her lips, the pink theme was gone, and in its place a tasteful color scheme of red and black. The decorations remained the same, but not the same colors Gnort had been so angry over. Looking
over the note left by him once more, she made her way into the kitchen, where she could work unseen.

Once there she murmured another word, a small fire elemental appearing before her. It twirled in the air as she gave its instructions, then nodded, disappearing to return with a piece of parchment, plain. As Jaycy dictated, the small elemental burned her words into the parchment, its even script quite unlike Jaycy's own. Once completed, the fiery spirit moved to the board and placed an unsigned note under Gnort's own, before disappearing to where
it came from.

"Pink? I didn't see pink. I saw red and black, and I think it's quite tasteful for tonight."

Still invisible to all, Jaycy left the Arena, only releasing her spell once she reached the safety of her office.

::Writes, grinning::

If you people think G would make the arena pink, I can say right now you're all wrong. Knowing G, he'd use lavender or yellow (the former more often, mind you) any day.

If G didn't do this (and I believe he didn't), then the arena will now be closed longer, possibly, because now the new colors have to be removed. Or, if the people who did this decide to step up and admit they did it, then fix it themselves, I'm sure the arena will be fixed according to their schedule.

By the way, G, I hope you know I'm kidding with you.
