Fellow Duelists,
Counting last nights defense I have now been challenged three times in not as many months. Despite my success what did I find when I woke up this morning? I found a challenge had already been placed in my mailbox by Lord Draven Altruis. Did he take any time to let me relax and enjoy my victory befor launching his own greed driven challenge? Did he take time to find out that I am currently barely able to walk because of the injury caused to my leg in the match last night against Lord Huma?
No.. he thought nothing of myself and place his challenge with such haste stating that he was just trying to beat everyone else to the punch. Frankly, this disgusts me, and I just hope that in the future everyone else will learn from Draven's lack of respect and honor in this situation and grant the Overlord some breathing room.
sincerely,
Lord Dalamar Ar'Daumon

You are THE reigning Overlord, Dalamar. You don't need to mention you're #28. The number system is only for us former Overlords trying to hold on to past glory. :
:
Long may you reign.
Sincerely,
Xenograg kathu-Darelir.

::tired of watching his friends challenge each other, cause he doesn't know where to sit at the challenge matches anymore:: Sheesh, of all the people to fight each other, Dalamar verses Draven, both have been extremely helpful to me, as a younger duelist...is there a "I like them both can I sit in the middle?" row of seats at the battlefield?

Seems that would be expected there Dal..There's a revolution tryin to happen here...And complaining about the time or lack there of in between challenges only fuels the fire. You defended yourself very well last night, you'll only have to do again sooner or later. Besides, Don't ya just wanna kick the pants off Draven? ::grins:: Have fun Dal..I don't envy your position.

It is truly grand to witness the Overlord, the epitome of a great swordsman and a tactful man, utilizing our public board to grouse about this and that and all that does not suit him. Dalamar, you've yet to show me respect. Our first true exchange of words, I believe, was dominated primarily by your incessant referring to me as a pathetic duelist. Believe what you may, I'll not condemn an opinion, merely close minded arrogance which you do epitomize quite nicely. In any case, as you'll know by the
time you read this post, I was not about to hear of your mortal wounds, so I do offer condolences for that. Respect, however, is something which I've yet to note you as worthy of, though I do consider you a worthwhile opponent.
Luck to you in our duel, Overlord, unless you intend to test me as being unworthy, in which case you're simply a hypocrite and in my eyes undeserving of such offerings.

::Smiles at Draven's post::
Coming from one who constantly berates others for their own feelings and posts...I find this rather pathetic. Mayhaps the warlord seeks to challenge my lord only because he is injured...maybe he feels he has a fighting chance this way.
Warlord Draven,
You are a jackal of the duels. A parasite upon the corpse of this sport. I have *never* seen a person constantly attack others without justification, without cause, as you do on a daily basis.
You do not sicken or sadden me because your actions are completely expected. This is something the people can look upon and find little shock in reading. I find I pity you...not for what you do but for what you are.
<<Luck to you in our duel, Overlord, unless you intend to test me as being unworthy, in which case you're simply a hypocrite and in my eyes undeserving of such offerings.>>
Since you are so adamant that Lord Dalamar does not respect you, why in the world should he fall for such a vacuous accusation?! Of course you will be tested, you have done everything but beg for that right. I doubt the overlord will even be in dueling form come the time.
I will give the fact that you are cunning...jackal.
All hail such the *mighty* warrior.

::reading the notes posted by Draven and Dalamar::
::tacks up a note to Dal::
Dalamar..
I have respect for you as OverLord, but it's my experience that most that try to outdo Draven in the arrogant department do not succeed well.. Greed driven? Perhaps, but in all honesty, could you say you knew it wasn't coming? I think not. And I do recall your first exchange of words with Draven.. on the night you interceded on Steve, but we won't go there.
As to your leg.. I'm sorry about that.. but no date and time was set for the match is it not your right to do such?
As you have been told.. I'm used to people making remarks about Draven.. but don't make the mistake of thinking I let serious ones go unnoticed.. Calling someone who has held the rank of Baron and been a Warlord for some time would indicate at least "some" skill...
Respectfully,
Colleen MacLeod
::tacks up a second note::
Draven,
When you duel Dalamar.. I'll be there near you.. in support.
Win or lose, I am and will be proud of you.
Love,
Collie

An unsigned post. To what coward do I owe the thanks for this poorly researched allegation? Knew you anything, you'd know that my plans to challenge Dalamar have been quite public for over two months now. As for this matter of my merciless attacks, which you so wittily likened to those of a jackal, I can only say that I press my humor on those whom portray themselves as deserving. I'll forgo any attempt to further explain that, as I'm sure you're far from interested in my pathetic defense.
The fashion in which the whole of this sport has so abruptly turned against me - in nearly every case without any cause whatsoever - is almost reminiscent of Ecore. Some who've not yet even uttered a word to me seem so eager to toss their mindless words onto the wagon and send it downhill toward the current target- Draven.
In any case, anonymous poster, you're likely just another of these petty fools who finds themselves unable to cope with my dislike of the renowned Overlord and seeks to vent their frustration by hurling absurd insults at me. Do trust in that I'll pay mind to this post only long enough to laugh it off.
Good day.

I would simply like to add that it strikes me as odd that I've been all but tied to a stake and burned for this immediate challenge, while Renegade Baronial queues seem to be an acceptable form of challenge in this sport. Are they not a greater form of disrespect? Yet, just as a queue of challenges is within the permitable rules for those Barons, an immediate challenge is allowed in my case. The matters are truly one in the same, so please refrain from the hypocritical remarks be merely targeting me
and letting others lie.

It seems to me that is to be expected. Is it not the price of being Overlord? A position of great power attracts many challenges - It is the price of that position that those challenges be met, one way or another. Our Lord already has a certain amount of protection in the right to call upon his faithful Barons to duel in his place, a significant advantage over any Warlord who might challenge him. I am sure, also, that it was not Warlord Draven's intent to step into the ring before the Overlord had
stopped bleeding. The challenge, after all, is not the actual duel.
I would imagine that it is difficult for some to find sympathy for one who achieves the honored position of Overlord and then complains that he is unfairly beset by challengers. Tho' I realize my own station is too low to merit the attention of my betters.

Awwww, quit yer whinin', Dal and Draven both...It might be considered common courtesy by some to give the Overlord some time between challenges, but Draven is well within his rights here...heck, Dal, if I did'nt know any better, I'd say that you were afraid of Draven defeating you. Heh.... And Draven.....quit that incessant whining...sheesh...my ears can only take so much, ya know....

First I remember my challenge to the Overlord Vixinish came on the night she took the crown from the Overlord Amaltea. I too took some grief for such an immediate challenge, but as Draven also feels, I knew had I not done it right away, someone else would have.
We talk about having reasons for challenges, and I believe for once we have that here. I have watched these two stalk each other for the last two months with words and actions. I knew well before this official post that this challenge was coming.
M'lord Dalamar, I wish you the best of luck in this challenge, as you are an old and dear friend of Questrion. I hope that this challenge does not come down to mud slinging on each side, for that would do the sport nae good at all.
M'lord Draven, you have shown me nothing but an honorable man in your service to House Questrion and know that I am behind you in this endevor of yours. Skill and honor Warlord.
Sincerely,
Lord Valmion

I must withdraw parts of my former post it seems, please, I beg forgiveness.
After reading the scathing replies of one much more worldly than I, there is nothing I can do but restate part of my former, anonymous post.
I now see that, unlike warlord Draven, even Jackals and parasites have at least a few worthwhile qualities.
