The Past lives again. Pt Two

Post by DoS Archive » Mon Mar 22, 2004 2:48 pm

Date: 9/6/97 8:39 AM Pacific Standard Time
From: JolaFici

Jola pulls open her jacket to reveal the white dove on her chest abover her shirt. Quietly, unsteadily, she speaks "It is I...not dead...but taken from you."

Dark Axe stammers as he sees the tattoo, his family crest. He falls to his knees as reality wars with fiction in his head::

Jola reaches out to touch Ulath's face gently, or attempt to, " Please, hear me with your heart."

Ulath still holds his hands against his head as he just stares at her, gazing while his eyes gradually decrease in their feral expression.

Jola holds her left hand out, her wedding ring gleams in the light of the Arena.

Dark Axe runs his hands through his hair as his eyes fill up with tears.

Jola moves to her knees in front of Ulath, eyes meeting his, pleading, "I understand if......if you don't want to see me. But...our son..."

Dark Axe shakes his head in disbelief as he stammers "Wha.. you.. dead.." Ulath falls back onto his arse as he hears her words." ..s..ssson?" he stammers. He shakes his head again as if to wipe the fictional world he appears to be seeing. "How.. dead.. assasin.." He is still incredulous as he gazes at her.

Jola tries hard to think of some way to convince him of the truth. "Your father....dead," she says, more of a statement than a question.

"Y..yes," he replies, as he pulls himself back to his knees, still watching her cautiously.

Jola explains, "They saw I was with child and wanted to ...anyway, they took me, intending to kill me after I gave birth." Jola smirks just a little, "It didn't work."

Dark Axe challenges, "The Phulstine's killed you.. they showed me your body.." He lowers his eyes, not bearing to look at her and believe her real.

Jola holds out her arm, her cyber arm and says, fervently, "This is fake, how hard would it be to fake a whole body? Especially one that doesn't have to *do* anything but be dead!"Jola realizes that's the proof, and suddenly rips the "skin" from her cyber arm and rises to her feet. She reveals not flesh and blood, but electronics. She murmurs, "This damned arm, that fouled my magic for so long until it was replaced!"

Ulath stares up at her as he clears his eyes with his hand. " You.. are not dead?" He shakes his head again, feeling such confusion.

Jola laughs finally, unable to contain her nervousness, "No!" Then, more soberly, " I...couldn't get back." She looks away, finding it difficult to look at the pain in his eyes, "I had to keep out of sight after I had our child, they were after me. I'm taking a chance now, they may not have forgotten, and they hate you. But I couldn't stand it anymore. Our son has to know his father. And..." she looks at him again, "I needed to see you again."

Ulath says softly, "Child.. son.. I have a son?" Jola replies with a nod, "A son. Aleath. "

Dark Axe pulls himself up from the floor, wiping the tears from his face again. He slowly reaches out to poke Jola, and feels her flesh under smooth skin. Jola bites her lip as she tries not to be ticklish.

Jola frowns as she looks at her arm and pats the "skin" back into place, letting it mend, and then she puts her hand gently over Ulaths and looks at his face again.

Dark Axe stares into her eyes, inwardly rejoicing as he sees the real Jola, though the injured Jola.

Jola says softly, "Aleath is taken care of tonight. Would you like to get to know your wife again?" She steps a little closer to Ulath.

Ulath places his arm around her, pulling her into a rough hug. "Yes, I think that would be nice." Jola hugs Ulath tightly, smiling a little. Dark Axe pulls back as he smiles, looking her over once more.

Moving close to Ulath's ear, Jola whispers, "Take me away from all this?"

Dark Axe nods to her, pulling her hand into his. Together they stride out of the Arena, Dark Axe not taking his eyes off his
wife.
