Tonight (10/3/98) we witnessed and I did officiate the challenge by Warlord Gnort Espelande G'neesmacher Dragoon Talanador of Baron of the 9th Ring Lupton est Dracoern.

Baron Dracoern duels under the colors of Gold and black, using a filigree hilt
broadsword.

Baron Dracoern's second is Verceterix Gavin Favre, and his Lady of Honor is
Elle McBride.

Warlord Gnort duels under the colors of Dark Blue and Shadow gray, his second
is the lady Drakewyn Alabaster-Silvertree.

*****----------*****

Ring of Honor, Round 1. Baron Dracoern must see the sword of his opponent
flashing, and he parries laterally to block the oncoming attack. Gnort, drops
at the last moment for a stop hit, and neither score in the opening round.

Ring of Honor, Round 2 - The Warlord's fancy footwork carries him down into a
duck, which is unfortunate for him as the Baron's thrust catches him squarely.

Ring of Honor, Round 3 - The Baron rises again, his lateral parry is indeed
fancy, yet it does not stop the Warlord's low cut for a point.

Ring of Honor, Round 4 - We have very cautious duelists this night. The Baron
fancy dances to the side and the Warlord disengages from the duel momentarily.

Ring of Honor, Round 5 - The Warlord steps to the side, fancily, and into the
strong and high cut from the Baron.

Ring of Honor, Round 6 - Weary of being cautious, both men thrust foward and
score swift and sure.

Ring of Honor Round 7 - The Baron goes on the offensive once more, with a cut
that is sure to hurt, if only Gnort were there. But the Warlord has ducked,
and fancily enough to gain a full point.

Ring of Honor Round 8 - The Baron sweeps off to the side with a fancy twist,
meeting Gnort's low cut on the way around the ring. Full point to Gnort.

Ring of Honor Round 9 - Caution abounds once more, Gnort adding a flourish to
his lateral parry, and Baron Dracoern stop hitting. No points this round.

Ring of Honor Round 10 - Agressive, both wish to end this and both take strong
moves... Baron Draecorn's blade thrusts outward, and into the Warlord
painfully... In return, he meets the WINNING thrust of his challenger!

FINAL in the challenge for the 9th Baronial Ring...

XGnortX defeats RLupton, 5-4 in 10 rounds.

And thus we have a new wearer of the 9th Baronial Ring of the Duel of Swords, Gnort Espelande G'neesmacher Dragoon Talanador.

Congratulations, and well dueled.

I'd Have to say that, that was a wonderful duel. I think it was a great duel to drop rank. too bad he retired.

::has Wil write on the bottom of the official challenge notice for her::

I failed to note that Gnort declared himself Loyal to Dalamar, which was gladly and gracefully accepted by the Overlord.

"And thus House Stupidity accrues another honor."

Seraph, in this time, let us mock not the winner of the duel, but set our attentions more firmly upon berating and degrading the loser.

Thus, I say: Ha, ha, Lupton. =D
