DoS,
Look, I know that this subject has already been beaten to death, but you know we have really lost something here. Instead of getting better as we got older (as a community), we simply slipped into the gutter. Why is it that along the same lines as the children of our community being more honorable, more adult, we as a community have also gotten away from the honor and majesty of our (communal) youth? For example, has anyone, and I know
that some of you are exempt from this question as you duel there, but has anyone taken the opportunity to look up the DoM message board? Maybe you should. That is what this used to be like. That is how this should be. Here we are blessed over the other rings of honor....we have such a huge following, and a great influx of talent both inside the rings and out, but we have let ourselves devote our talents to this morbid game of "gotcha last." It
is very clear from even the most flaming remarks on this board that most of us have talent....why is it that the only release we have for this talent is to attack each other? Face it, for most of us, we all sit around wasting our time trying to come up with a wittier or more insulting jibe just to get back at what is often only a preceived insult. What's the point of that? It only creates a nasty, never ending cycle of bad blood and hurt feelings.
Maybe for some of you, that's what you want. Well maybe some of you should try growing up some. Or maybe, we should all just grow down......I look at all the arguments saying that our children are better behaved then we are and I look at the "younger" or less developed rings of honor (DoM, DoF) and I see the relationship as being synonomous. You know, maybe I should just throw in my sword and go be a mage, or a pugilist, but I don't think so. I
love this sport for all it's worth, and I for one cannot just stand back and watch us slowly deteriorate into the "wretched hive of scum and villainy" that we are on a collision course for just now. At the expense of sounding corny, "why can't we all just get along?" Come on folks, lets see if we can't get back to the way we were, eh?

So, I leave you with this, if you really want something to change, if you really want this Arena and sport to be different, if you really want its "old glory" back, get up and do something, but please, don't ask me what, cause I ain't got a clue.
By the way, this ain't meant to offend, more like inspire...

Aye, I believe if we all gain more respect for eachother and not look to argue needlesly, because some argument is not needless. Duelers are having less fun now, and I believe those involved in politics should less worry about politics, challenges, etc., for a little bit, and just get in there and duel your heart out, make friends with everyone, have, well fun, even though the political side is a part of dueling; it

I thank you all for your advice and will try to apply it as such to my daily life here in the arena and without. When I wrote my previous letter, I was merely pointing out an example, a template if you will for us to follow. I know that it is the kind of excellence that I personally strive for. Personally... I've grown tired of telling people that, to make things better you have to -work- to make things better. I've seen many friends leave, all saying that "it's not like it used to be" or "everything has gone downhill."
How can it -not- go downhill, if those who were the best of the best just walk away? If you feel that you cannot change things, then you -will- not change things...
I'm here now, and for the foreseeable future as well. I may not be able to change things, but I will never stop trying to make sure the world is a better place... my daughter and my daughter to be both deserve that much.
